  10. I'll tell you what I know about it: It was brought in in the late 70s early 80s and race locally in Southern California under the SCCA I believe - Its title sponsor was Curry House - a Japanese restaurant chain with outlets in and around Los Angeles. From talking to some of the guys involved in SCCA back then (namely the Firehawk series which is basically a previous iteration of what has now become the Speedvision TOuring car series), they do remember having seen the car around on the track. It was discovered about 18mo ago in the domestic section of an Azusa junkyard and purchased for $1000 or thereabouts. That guy knew what it was which is why he bought it but didn't do anything with it, he towed it to the MSA show in Orange in 2002 and I guess it changed hands since and is now back up for grabs? It has a very large L28Turbo with all the right kind of plumbing, it hasn't run in YEARS (like at least a decade) but show's no major problems from what I could tell - no interior and no huge spots of rust either.... Like I said if I had the cash I would already have snapped it up... -e
  11. I am not the person selling it although the last time it went up for grabs I did put a bid on it but did not win it, this time around I don't have enough cash to snap it up, maybe somebody local will and then they'll let me drive it around the block just once? I really would want a 3.9 in trade or else I am SOL for my R180 LSD I am building... but what kind of $$ did you have in mind if you were to buy it outright? -e
  13. About the Diode: Radio Shack does not carry it MarVac does - their part number NTE506 costs a whopping $1.65 Fry's Electronics also carries it. About the alternator: The S130 pulley is no more than 1/16" different in diameter than the S30 unit. The difference lies I think in the Alt housing which does offset it a bit more from the engine. I tried to reuse the L24 fan/alt belt but it just wouldn't work - thus the S130 non-turbo one.
  14. Thank you Carl - that's exactly what I was looking for! Perfect... You guys are a great help. -e
  15. hmm... my reasoning behind it is very simply nothing more than to remove something out of the engine bay (ie v.reg) to make it cleaner in appearance. Yes it really is as shallow as that. So tell me Daniel do you know where I ought to be putting this diode? -e
  16. I re-read Carl's (Bambikiller240) post on my other thread here in the Help Me section and he does briefly mention that in addition to doing the wiring thing you need to insert a diode. But he does not specifically say where or how? Are all diodes created equal? Do they have ratings or different sizes they come in? How do I describe the one I want when I go to Radio Shack and more importantly where do I put it? -e

  18. I forgot to mentiom above that I did of course reconnect the T shaped two wire connector to the alternator as well as per stock...
