Non A/C part needed for swap
My water **** has recently started leaking. While I'm changing that out I will also be replacing the heater core, whatever new hoses are available and the part I will be needing. My '74 had A/C.(no longer) The hose connector between the engine compartment and the passenger side of the firewall is currently with the A/C vacuum water **** that comes just before the water valve that you adjust the temperature with. I no longer need that piece. What I'm looking for is the Non A/C hose connector. I have a pic of what I'm looking for. This can also be found in the '74 FSM on AC-55. <-- Click to enlarge this may also be the same in earlier and/or later models, not sure about that. Let me know if anyone has access to one of these that would be willing to part with it. Thanks Bobby

R200/mustache bar nut size?
Tried to find it in my FSM some other Z books I have and searched the Z car forums but no luck. I've been checking but cannot seem to find the size of the two nuts that attach an R200 diff to the mustache bar. Size and pitch? (16MM X 1.5 maybe?) I'm doing a swap on my Early 260Z and had assumed the R200 were the same as the R180 diff. and was going to use the R180 nuts. Ah well:finger:Thanks ahead of time. Bobby

Did the auto out swap. What diff?
Thanks ezzzzzz I do have some mods. Triple webers, header, Monza exhaust, lite weight flywheel, Centerforce Stage 2 clutch. Daily driver when it's sunny......... No winter use (I'm in the northeast) Would the scenario change if I also swapped to a 5 speed?

Did the auto out swap. What diff?
Hey all. I've read some conflicting thoughts on what differential I should be using. I have a early '74 260 that had an auto. I did the conversion to a 4 speed ( I already had one from a 260Z ) The stock diff I believe 3.545 that was being used with the auto is still there. What should or would be best to be using. I'ld rather have more lower end. Thanks ahead of time Bobby

From a fellow early 260Z owner, welcome and all the luck with your Z! Bobby_Lee- How far will Maaco go for you?
:cheeky: BlueMeanie that's another one of my $ hobbies that I get to spend my not so disposable money on:D And besides my 260Z doesn'[t like getting air like that.........- How far will Maaco go for you?
Hhhmm sure wish you were on the east coast. Conneticut or Maryland? Not bad............Anyone in the NYC area?- Fuel Tank Liner...The Home Version
Hello all, Over the winter I removed my tank from my 260Z. I used the POR 15 method. The tank had a lot of rust debris and varnish. I'm lucky in so much as I not only have a large sandblast cabinet and an indoor power wash (for cleaning silk screens) big enough for a gas tank but also a walk in oven for accelerating the curing time. Pretty much like the above methods. I also sandblasted the outside and painted it. I've only had the tank this way for about 2 months, I checked the fuel flter just yesterday and it is clean as the day I installed it. (When I put the tank back on the car) Long term? Who knows. I followed instuctions pretty much to the letter and didn't take any shortcuts.- I have a aftermarket fuel pump. Do I need the stock electric pump?
I only have my Carter (Not a Purolater as in my prior post :paranoid: ) electric fuel pump and regulator at this point. No stock electric in the back and no mechanical, with Triple Webers and everything is running fine. :classic:- Anyone have spare set of carbs? Or need another kid?
Hiya Mike, I have a set of round tops I just removed from my 260Z (Prior owner upgraded from the flat tops) to make room for my Webers. No issues with them. I can take some photos of them if you like. Now here's the good part. People have always been good to me on here and over at zcar.com. I would like to "pay it forward" If you wouldn't mind paying the shipping, they're all yours, for free. They are still on the intake manifold. I can take them off or leave them on, your choice. Let me know. Bobby_Lee nicatme@aol.com cell 914-760-9457- I have a aftermarket fuel pump. Do I need the stock electric pump?
Hello all, I do have the mechanical pump off the car. I have a Purolator pump. It is noisy! I may have to look into that Mazda pump. I'm running aubout 3.5 lbs at the carbs. I also didn't mention it, but I didn't dead head it at the rear carb. I've continued it on to the return line. It seems there is some controversey over ending it or having it go to the return line. In the pic you can see the pressure regulator on the far left. The gauge is just before front Weber. And thanks to all of you who took the time out to answer this post! :knockedou- I have a aftermarket fuel pump. Do I need the stock electric pump?
Thanks Stephen, That was the conclusion I came to on my own. Common sense would dictate that to be the case. But, there are far brighter Z owners than myself :stupid:- I have a aftermarket fuel pump. Do I need the stock electric pump?
Alright I have triple webers with no mechanical and an aftermarket electric fuel pump. This is in a 260Z. Do I, in fact, need the stock electric pump? I seem to be getting enough fuel pressure. I do have a fuel pressure regulator. Thanks to all who answer.......... Bobby_Lee- Auto to Manual swap (the pesky spacer)
:classic: :squareeye While I was getting ready to swap out my auto trans for a manual in my 260Z I did alot of reading first. Both here and in ZCAR.com If it were'nt for these two sites I am sure I would of wasted a lot of time and money. Anyway, while I was reading about this swapI ran across the "pesky spacer" on the rear of the crankshaft. Had I not known about that ahead of time I would of surely tried to install the manual and pulled out what little hair I have left. What I didn't find was any photos of this spacer. Sooooo here are some pics of it in place and off the crank. I hope this helps someone in the future. Again thanks to all who have posted and made my life easier :classic: Bobby_Lee- That pesky spacer when you're auto trans swapping

If you do decide you need some sort of insulation, check out Jegs or one of the other performance parts outlets. They have several alternatives.- Expert Test - What's this?
