  1. Post the part number and someone can check it for you. I doubt a Nissan dealer will be able to help identify a part from a 35 yr old car. Many don't even know what a "Datsun" is these days. -Mike
  2. I don't think I have seen anything like those before Terry. -Mike
  3. Here is a picture I took of the line of Z's in front of me as we left the rest stop. There were still several other Z's behind me too. I tried to post the picture to the the gallery under the Canby event pics, but it doesn't look like it worked for some reason. -Mike
  4. No sign of Norm at the Canby show this year, so he is still MIA I guess. -Mike
  5. You are right Arne. I was confusing one of the emissions lines with the return fuel line. Ignore my comment above. -Mike
  6. Not all. The earliest North American cars didn't have return fuel lines. Other markets with different emissions requirements may not have had them either. -Mike
  7. That sucks Arne. This is the first year I stuck around for the raffle stuff (well most of it at least) and as we were all standing over there I looked back at the cars and wondered if they would be ok. I guess the thief had a series one car, because they apparently weren't interested in the hubcaps from my 72 . If I had brought one of my early cars and someone had stolen the plastic fuel door knob from it I would be livid! I'll look around and see if I have a spare metal one for you. -Mike
  8. It looks like someone zero feedback did the "buy it now" on this car for $18k. I am kind of surprised, since there weren't any other bids on the car yet. I wonder if it was a real sale. -Mike
  9. I'm heading out to the OR coast now, so I will see you guys between 9-9:30 on Sunday at the rest area. -Mike
  10. Click on "Parts Catalog" in red on the lower left side and enter your part number.
  11. I came across another internet site for Nissan parts recently and thought I would pass the information along. I just got my first order from them yesterday. The site is nissanpartsnow.com and apparently it is part of Conyers Nissan in Conyers, GA. They are cheaper than nissanparts.cc, Courtesy Nissan and my local dealer with Z club discount (which also requires me to drive 1.5 hours round trip to pick up the parts). Their site says "Lowest Prices On The Internet!". At least they are the lowest prices I have found so far. -Mike
  12. The part number is 40222-22001 Bolt-Hub Road Wheel. -Mike
  13. Did you bleed the brakes after you changed the fluid? It sounds like they weren't bled properly and still have air in the lines.
  14. Looks great Ron! I need to do something similar for mine. -Mike
  15. I would also differentiate dealer installed Nissan accessories from dealer installed aftermarket parts. For example, some side stripes are "true original parts", they were just dealer installed, instead of installed by the factory. -Mike
  16. I was watching this one too. It is similar to my 5/72 which has just under 40K miles and I may be selling soon. I agree the black undercoating in the engine bay would be hard to get rid of. Are the brown seats faded where they look green or were the tan interiors two tone like that? It looks like they are faded to me, but I think I have seen other 72 and 73 cars with tan interiors that look like that. Also, there is some sort of small chrome circle on the left side between the bumper and antenna. What is that? Some kind of a lock or something? -Mike
  17. Exactly what I was going to say Arne. -Mike
  18. I thought I remembered them being larger than that too, which is why I typed "large bolt" initially. But then I went out to check the car and spare engine in my garage and both are 14mm (they are from 1969 production cars). I just went and checked the bolt in my 5/72 and it is 22mm, so maybe the 14mm is just another thing unique to the early cars. -Mike
  19. Left rear. It is a 14mm bolt in the block.
  20. See posts #30 on in this thread http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33169&page=2. -Mike
  21. At the risk of continuing the unfair advertising debate... $157 US. Here is a link http://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=B&Category_Code=car_covers -Mike
  22. Correct. It is Mrs Brock's BMW 2002. They have their "Datzilla" 510 in for tuning, and the shop was closed yesterday. I think they plan to take a picture of the cover on the right car today and update the photo on their site. Edit: Guess I should have read the text for the 510 cover on the BRE site. Gayle already notes that is the ad. :stupid: -Mike
  23. All I see are flashing dots. Are you trying to hypnotize us? The best way to attach pictures is to click on "Go Advanced" and then scroll down to "Manage Attachments" and upload your pictures. Just be sure to stay within the picture size limits, or they won't upload. -Mike
  24. Funny! I didn't know they were actually going to use the picture with me in it or I would have sucked my gut in some:). Mrs Brock wanted to test out the car cover fit before she started sending them out across the country, and I think I am the only person close by that they know with a Z. Anyway, they are very nice people and it is always fun to talk to them. Peter looked my Z over for a long time. I think it has been awhile since he has seen one as stock as mine. He seemed really impressed with the original hubcaps that I have on it now and he liked the red with white interior combination. I should have brought two Z's and a couple of LeMans wheels over and we could have recreated the original photo! Did anyone notice anything about the picture of the 510 with the cover on it? Carl, I was surprised that it was a different design than the original one you posted pictures of in this old thread http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=211600&postcount=14. I asked the Brocks about it, but they didn't recall the type you have. -Mike
  25. Chris, How would that work if you completed one as a running car in the US? Would it be drivable on the street or only on a track? I wouldn't think you could you register an aluminum recreation of a 40 year old body shell for street use without safety testing, etc. -Mike
