Some poor misguided ebayers had actually bid this phony mileage car up to $3550 --- then sleezy used car salesman or his attorney decided to pull the car stating it was no longer available for sale. A few weeks ago I almost picked up a 1977 2+2 (i was just buying it to get the recarro buckets and then resell the car) for $1700 then with 2 hours left the seller pullled the car using the same reason I emailed him and asked if he was taking private offers turned out that he had a firm $4000 offer but just thought he could get more on ebay so he put it out there ---- but accidentally forgot to put a reserve price -- or some BS if you are about to get a bargain the seller can pull the item -- just doesn't seem right dan

That is a sweet z car definately worth a minimum of $10k to $12k (which is probably what the reserve is set at) It would easily cost double that or more to build this car -- the paint job probably cost $7,000 Dan

I knew a guy back in 82 who owned a zx with the digital dash --- he put in a chip that split the miles. When he was going 80 the speedometer said he was going 40 -- therefor for every 80 miles driven the car only registered 40 miles. Just for laughs I contacted the seller of this car -- and asked him to explain all the inconsistencies between condition and mileage This was his response >i am a dealer and can prove the miles. odometer is original, the vehicle has been owned by our dealerships attorney. I think this cements the fact that the miles are fraudulent

Was looking at this 19,000 mile ZX that just popped up on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2404886579&category=6187 In the photo of the odometer the numbers seem uneven Was thinking this is a tell tale sign that the odometer has been rolled back??????? Wondering what others thought? Okie Dan

Does anyone have a Bob Sharp valve cover --- or know someone that does I have been seaching for months I found one but the price is outrageous I would be willing to pay $200 - $300 thought I would make one last ditch effort to find an affordable BSR valve cover (I have an old bsr gt-33 that is missing the valve cover ---I assume a former owner kept it as a souvenir)

did you see the posting for 240z be geevum -- sounds like it would be a good one for you http://www.240z.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1349 it is in San Francisco -- but if you have a truck and a trailer that is days drive (cant be more than 500 or 1000 miles) -- if it were me I would gladly drive that distance for a free zcar

Hey Shotime --- if you are into Z's and into fords then you got to check out this car (though some might think it is sacrilege) it is the best of both worlds http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=600493058 --- now I bet you would sell your SHO for that zcar -- By the way what is an SHO -- is it just a souped up ford sedan?? (that was not meant sarcastically) ---- and while your SHO or a Stang 5.0 would blow away a ragged out $2500 zcar -- you should be careful who you drag because there are some super fast zcars out there (unfortunately mine is not one of them) here is a link to a legendary Zcar which would definately give you a run for your money no matter how fast your car is (and its for sale for $9800) http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/membersZs/billReagan/bill2l.jpg http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/membersZs/virtualarchive.html z ya Okie Dan ---- I too have owned a lot of other cars -- and enjoyed them but in the end I have sacrificed them all to fund my z car addiction -----

I actually have paid exactly $6700 for a 280z in the past (but wouldn't for this one) the red stripes on a black pearl were optional -- so it is possible to have an original black pearl with out them I asked the seller why a 22k mile car would have been repainted -- he claimed it was original paint and wanted to know why I thought it was a repaint (I explained that as far I was aware the first time datsun offered z car in black was the 1978 black pearl edition) he refused to send me a photo of the engine bay

actually I informed anyone who had ever placed a bid on that car-- but I bet the scammer will try again ---

Last night I stumbled across this forum and read all the letters about the the scam resto --(I had seen it myself - and thought it was bogus- but had failed to notice all the flaws)- so I emailed the high bidder just in case he was unaware that he was about to buy a p.o.s. fake resto -- thought I would post his response: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Just to let you know how stupid I am, I also currently own 1 of the 40 vintage z program 240z. When I finally look closely and asked the seller I then realized that it sure is a fake. I read your e-mail just right before I send my downpayment in the mail. Again, thank you very much.

has anyone seen the supposed 22k mile Black pearl car on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=600318392 the only problem is the seller claims that it is original paint -- but it is a 1977 -- so that is not possible (is it) also I have never seen a black pearl with a white interior overall car looks good but seems fishy (probably a better car than the supposed nissan resto)
