I am planning on replacing the manual trans in my 72 240z with a manual. I want to keep it as stock as possible. What are the pros/cons of a 4 speed vs a 5 speed? Which one do most people recommend and why?

I am looking to purchase a 240z and have a couple of questions: 1) How difficult/expensive is it to replace an automatic transmission in a 1972 model with a 5 speed manual? 2) Is it difficult to find "clean" dashes for 240s for replacement? How many $$?
