Throttle body injection from RB26 onto triple carb manifold
Hi Guys, I am slowly putting together parts to create L3.1 and I was thinking of grafting on the throttle body injection from an RB26 engine onto a triple carb manifold - has anyone done this or know of anyone who has. I have a manifold and just picked up the GTR throttle bodies for $70US so surely its worth a try! Cheers Glenn Auckland New Zealand

Compomotive 15/8
Test fitting - destined for another car with flares - hmmm nice. Offset -12 Probably would fit under standard wheel arch with -6

Howdy - looking good. I have all the parts to do the same except for the pistons and I was wondering how it goes with the SUs. I plan to do the same (stage 1) and would keen to know whether the carbs are providing the engine with enough flow. Does it rev nicely and have a nice broad power and torque curve. Cheers Glenn

Which Watanabe's to look for
Good club to be in! These wheels have been bolted to a 200sx and Mitsi Lancer GSR before they came to me. They are 15inch and I am running a 1 inch bolt on spacer from Modern Motorsports. Not sure what offset they are. They were originally white and I had them sandblasted and powdercoated silver. I was impressed with how light they are. I am running 195 tyres as I like the car to be nimble and have a nice progressive breakaway when punting hard! I used to run heavy 14inch wheels with 205 tyres and the difference in feel is huge with the Watanabe wheels.

Good info thanks - appreciated. I will try and attach a picture of mine which are not the correct offset but you can't be picky in New Zealand and especially when they only cost $100US for the set. One day I might be able to afford a better offset Cheers Glenn

Parting with my Triple Mikuni's...
Hello there - are these still for sale?

Bugger - R180 LSD I bought is actually a R160 - is it still useful
After talks with the seller I am returning it to him for a refund - nobody wins but best outcome all round. Will sit on my hands for a while and then put in a Skyline 4.11 R200 LSD..... Cheers GM

I also have a Skyline R32 GTS25 and if you are going to put in an RB engine you may as well put in the Viscous LSD R200 from the R33GTS25T or the GTR diff if you go the big $ route. Have fun Personally I am keen to do a RB30/RB25DE NA hybrid with throttle body injection.....one day

Stumped - Getting an R200 out from under a 280zx
Thanks guys for your help - with the suspension cross member in place the diff was catching on the chassis rail going across the floor so taking your advice I undid the suspension cross member nuts (not all the way and then jacked the car up with the suspension still sitting on the axle stands. Hey presto - plenty of room and the diff came out easily. Thanks again Cheers Glenn

Yes it can be used - the one I have has the same output flanges as the 240z but the smaller diff and ring gear generates more heat and if you are drifting then it will be toast - go for the R200 for drifting

Thanks - I know Bruce well - may give him a call. I will send you a PM - interested to know about another Z out there. My car originally came from Christchurch Cheers GM

Cheers - he still reckons it is a R180 so I am going to take it a Z club guy to identify properly - the ring gear is 16cm across and the rear cover is the same as a R160.... Will see what happens

Bugger - R180 LSD I bought is actually a R160 - is it still useful
Howdy, Bought an R180 LSD off the New Zealand equivalent of eBay and when it arrived it looked a bit small. Have since worked out it is a R160. It came with a 3.7 and 3.9 ratio and a Nismo LSD centre. It is in good order but I am not sure if it is much chop for my 240z which has an open 3.9 in it. I was wondering if the LSD centre can still be used in my spare R180 casing or whether I should start again..... Does the R160 bolt in? This is for a street car running mild hp so I am unlikely to break it. I know it is not as strong as a R180 or R200 Bugger!!! Cheers Glenn

Rear Struts 1971
I have adjustible KONIs and they are great - able to soften them for carrying ladies and harden them up for the boys! Also include new bushes and new springs and the car will be transformed
