Ok 162 but why?

Hi everyone I have a question about horsepower. From what I ve read the stock hp of a 1974 260z is 139? On my 260z the plate under the hood says hp is 167 or 169. Whats up with that? Thanks Chris

thanks for responding I am thinking of removeing the devise altogether i hope this will fix it I think everything else works so it has to be the vacuum devise that was what I was talking about in my original post or trying to talk about

I am having a problem with my 260z I have Switched to the su side drafts The car starts fine idles fine evrything seems ok but when it warms up if i accelerate above 3000 rpm the throttle sticks and holds at about 3-3500rpm Now from what I under stand the carbs have something that is suppose to hold the throttle briefly and then come down to prevent stalling but I have to force mine to come back down by braking without pressing the clutch witch is a real pain to stop. If I push the clutch in it just sicks and revs at like 3-3500 rpm. What do I do?:sick: Thanks Mars

240zx that is one of the nicest z's i have seen i love the classic look thats what i am going for I have the basket wheels on mine but they're only 14" I want at least 16" Do you have any more pics of yours?

Do you think a 16 or 17 inch rim would work?

Does anyone know what the biggest wheel and tires will fit on an early 260z without making it look like crap. I wanted to put wider tires on the back. Thanks Mars23z

Is the clutch slave adjustable on a 1974 260z? If so how do you adjust it? Thanks Chris

It dosen't seem to be slipping but it will shudder weather I'm on the gas or not. Figures soon as someone else drive it something happens.

This past weekend I let my friend drive my 260z and he is not the best at manual shift. Now when I let the clutch out it shutters a little bit. Is it my clutch or something else? If its the clutch any ideas what a new upgraded clutch kit cost? Chris

My 260 has a muffler only with no cat or resonator It sounds awsome and my mufflers packing is blown out. so I think a mild glass pack would sound good. I am going to do something like that when I replace my muffler. Chris

I have an early 74 260z and my paint code is rubbed off. My car is orange and is still the original color. Does anyone know what the code is? Is it 110 red? Chris

The valves on the z cars are adjustable. My 260z ticks and my tech said it is probably the valves he said it was pretty easy to do myself and that it would probably quite the ticking. Dont know if this is your problem but would n't hurt to adjust them. You would need a new valve cover gasket (about $20).I have the gasket and plan to do mine soon. Chris

The throttle seems to stick after i let off almost like the choke is sticking it holds at about 3000 rpm for about 5 secs and then slowly drops
