First ride in a 240Z
My first ride in a Z was the 260z that I own today. My friend that I met back in I guess would have been 1979 had one, well I should say his dad had one(we were only 6yrs old back then). His dad bought the car new in 74 and when we turned 16 we would drive it all the time. They kept the car until 2005 and then had to sell it so I jumped on it. I knew the car for all those years and always wanted one so when the opportunity came up for that Z I had to have it. I will probably own this car forever and I made a promise to my friend that if I ever did sell it he would get first chance at buying it back. I am so happy to have a car that I have been around for almost 30 years it makes it all the sweeter.

L26 vs L28
Well that would be a nice improvment and the fact that my L26 smokes some it may have even lower compression then normal so the percentage may be even more. 8% I think is definatly going to be noticable. Thanks for the input

L26 vs L28
Can anyone tell me what the difference in HP, torque, or just the overall difference in power is between an L26 with roundtops vs an L28 with roundtops? Both engines are stock except bolt on stuff( headers, exhaust)and the L28 is from a 76 with N42 heads. Thanks Chris.

which lip spoiler do you think looks the best?
I prefer the BRE style it looks "correct" and not all tuner looking like some of them

If you could have only one Z-but any Z which would it be?
I like my early 260z because it resembles the 240z and with 240 roundtops it runs good to. However if it could be anything I wanted I think an original 70 or earlier would be the one

Got my engine today
The engine was started and ran this year and the guy said it doesnt smoke or leak. I guess Ill know when I get it in. Anything about switching from EFI to SU I should know? The engine was pulled from a 76 not a 75. Thanks Chris.

Got my engine today
My L26 is in need of a rebuild so I bought an L28 from a 75 with 70k to use until Iam done with the L26. I am ditching the EFI and using my roundtops and was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of? The engine has the N42 head and from what I have read here it seems pretty cut and dry. The swap is being done by an experienced mechanic and I have the "how to book" and the Hastings book but thought I would ask the experts here for any advise. Thanks and Ill give an update after its all back together. Chris

The 1st General Lee has been found and restored ! ! ! !
Thats awesome I remember watching that car fly through the air, and then it hit the ground and then it was time for Genral Lee #2. John Snyder had his on e-bay and it was sold for like $1million and it turns out it was a unauthorized bid or something so it didnt sell. Those are pretty cool cars but $1million is alot. What could you do to a z with $1million? You could probably start a pilot episode for a new tv show called the Dukes of Katayama and the car could be called the General Tso oh wait thats Chinese.

EFI to SU's
So if I was to swap my l26 for an l28 and use my roundtops would this run better and have more power then if i kept the EFI?

Datsun car evnts
Hi was wondering if anyone knows if there are Datsun car shows, events, etc in the Northwestern Pennsylvania area? or other shows with cars of the like . I want to see other Zs but there are very few I see around me. There is an orange 240 with a widebody kit that I see running around but have yet had the opportunity to talk to the owner. So I would love to find a Datsun show that I could drive to. Thanks Chris.

Klasse Car Wax....
I use Zymol on my 74 and it has the original paint I love it it really makes the car shine and it last a while too. The bottle says after you wax spray a light mist of water on the car and then take a chamois and dry the car. Its really looks great when done. Zymol is probably what I will always use. They sell it at autozone and advance auto. Chris. Oh and by the way my friends use it on there Porsches and it is recommenede for those cars in performance magazine. New or old paint works on my 74 orig paint and on my buddies 2005 911

MGB a little off topic here
Hi was just wondering if anyone here has any knowledge of MG. The dealership I work for has aquired a 1967 MG MGB GT with 29300 original miles. I was trying to look up NADA on the car and it list a Mark II MG MGB GT. I dont see the Mark II on the car anywhere so I was guessing that might just mean series 2 or second generation car. Any input would be helpful. The car is for sale for $9500 red black int 4spd 4cyl

280z vs 260z engine
So I should just keep the L26 stock and do the L28? I dont want a stroker but maybe the next level down from that what ever that is. What I want is something around 200hp but still nice for the street. I will probably never race atleast nothing to serious I just want more power. I realize a turbo is the easiest way but I would like a NA engine. Thanks for all the input guys.
