HAHA Sorry no one said I was the smartest guy on the site. So thats good because I own 2 Honda Accords and the one with the spare that will work is not inspected so I will steal from Peter to pay Paul so to speak and finally have a spare. Thanks Arne

What about early 4cyl Honda Accords? The bolt pattern is the same as the Z not sure about putting one on a modified brake system but maybe a stock set up?

Yes the look is not for everyone I agree but atleast we know that a generic cap with or with the spinner should work.

The original owner said they were put on at the Datsun dealership when he bought the car. I thought I might use them if I ever buy another Z but the problem as you well know is getting 14" tires. I know they are out there but limited. The other reason I would want them is just for the simple fact that they are old and in realy good shape. When I bought the car I took the mothers powerball to them and WOW what a difference they look nice and shiny now. Oh and by the way I think the center caps were just a generic brand the ones that came with spinners. Now those were put on back in like the early 90's. Not sure what was on it before that for caps. I actually used the spinner caps on my new rewinds cause the ones that come with those dont clear the dust caps and they look great.

Last summer I bought new wheels for the Z and have a set of mesh wheels(see gallary) that Im not sure what to do with. I dont know the brand all I know is they were put on shortly after the car was purchased new. I am wondering if I should keep them or if anyone has any interest in them. They have tires on them that will have to replaced as they are a little cracked but the tread is good the wheels are 14x5.5 or 6 I can look in the rim for the size and I can put up some better pics. They look like enkie or appliance maybe Arne can tell. Not sure if Ill sell was trying to get a reaction from you guys first. Thanks for the help. Chris

Thanks thats what I thought. According to the paint guide it has to be 110 RED. The color is Orange not Red so why didnt they just call it 110 Orange? I want to be sure because I want to do some paint restoration until I can get the whole thing repainted. There is a small rust bubble on the rocker so I want to repaint both rockers.

I agree that they are polished witch in my opinion looks better then chrome on an older car. Since we are on the subject would someone look at my gallary and tell me if it looks like 918 or 110 red. Sorry the pics arent that great my code has worn off and it looks more orange then red, but it is an early 260 and I think 110 is the only color offered on the 260. I know the car is still the original color, did they offer 918 on early 260's?
  9. Its a good thing he put "Has rust " in the decription or I wouldnt have seen it

The system looks great I cant wait to hear it. I want that system on my Z. Its looks alot better then the one from MSA and looks like it fits better to. Good luck I hope to do one on mine this summer at my local custom shop.
  11. Thanks for all the help. If anyone was watching e-bay I bought the L28 engine with N42 heads with 70K on it . I paid the buy it now price of $225. I talked to the guy and if its what he says I feel thats a good price he said it doesnt smoke and runs strong I guess Ill know soon enough. I guess even if the engine is shot I have the original L26 and now this L28 that I can make one good engine from. If you had the two and was planning a rebuld anyway should the two be combinded or just stick with one or the other? As I said earlier I was planng to rebuild the L26 and use the L28 until I was done, but now after reading all the post on the subject I am confused on what would be the best solution. I want semi stock a slight increase in HP is always welcome, but I still want reliabilty (HAHA) I only drive this car in nice weather and in North Western PA that is a rare thing however I drive it every chance I get. I have decided to use SUs in whatever I do. Is there any real disadvantages to the dished vs flat top pistons? I know copression is lower in dished but will I even notice in a stock engine? Thanks again Chris

What about the ones from motosport. I think they sell everything you need http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/SW
  13. Thanks for the responses guys. Thats what I love about this site lots of helpful tips from people who have already done these things. I am looking forward to the swop. Now that we are on the subject witch would you build up the l26 or the l28 I will use carbs with what ever I do. I think I will prob do the l26 just so the original motor is in the car on the other hand I dont ever plan to sell or show it so I guess that isnt that important. So is one better to modify then the other? I thought it was interesting in the poll on this sight the n42 head is voted #1 and the e88 was voted #2. So either way I think it will be good. Thoughts?
  14. Thanks TBK1 for the help. Did you see any difference in performance? I imagine it would be hardly noticable. thanks again.
  15. Oh and will the exhaust match up?
  16. First I know this topic has come up in the past. I just bought a 280z engine with an n42 head with 70k on it that i want to use until i build up my l26. What I want to make sure is will I be able to use my intake on the l28 so I can use the carbs (the ones on the l26 came from an early l24) from the l26? I read somewhere that the early efi fire all the time compared to the sequential firing in the later ones so I thought I might be better off transfering the SU carbs. Also I would need a fuel pump and Iam trying to keep cost to a minimum right now. Plus I really like the SU carbs. Anyone care to add and tell me what to do? Thanks Chris
  17. Dont forget Peter Goseinya

try Zymol Im told it used to be sold only through the Porsche Performance catalog but you can get it anywhere now. It works really well
  20. The tires I run are Hankook ventus R-s2 they are a high performance tire. I love them. I cant believe how much better my car handles. I bought them from the same guy that sells they rewind knock offs called fast fowards The set wheels and tires mounted balanced and shipped was $900 here is the linkhttp://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=109382
  21. Arne you are right the tires I put on are a performance tire vs the all season tires that were on it before
  22. just personal preference I wanted a little wider in the back just for looks if nothing else. it does look nice with a fatter tire in the back. The car handles really good compared to the previous set up witch was 195/60/14 all the way around. I know some people will say it might hurt the handling but in my case it was a huge improvement. very happy with my set up
  23. I have 205/50/15 up front and 225/50/15 in the back on a stock set up and I have no issues, mounted on rewinds 15x7
  24. I took the caps from my mesh wheels witch were the kind that hold the spinners they stick out enough that the work great I wasn't sure at first about the look but I put the spinners on with the rewinds and it looks awsome real classic look no problems. tires are 205/50/15 fronts and 225/50/15 backs on a stock set up no rubbing
