280z vs 260z engine
Hi I cant find a thread to answer this so I apologize if this is in a thread some where. I am swapping my L26 for a L28 while I rebuild the L26. The engine is from a 75 I am using my carbs (roundtops) instead of the EFI. What I am wondering is will the N42 with dished pistons potentially produce more power then the L26? I want to modify one of the engines but I am not sure if I should keep the original L26 stock and do the L28 or visa/versa. Iam going to run the L28 the way it is for a while and was just wondering what to expect from the set up I will use. Thanks Chris

260 240 bumpers?
There are 2 260z bumpers early and later 74 the early one were thinner more like the 240z the later ones were fatter like the 280z but both were fatter then the 240z. Hopefully someone can add to this hope this helps. Chris

300zx vs Corolla
To add to that last thread it is also a good time to purchase used american cars because they have put themselves in a position that the resale value is way down because of all the rebates on new. I agree that many manufactures today make quality cars and you pick up domestics well below there value. Toyota did just pass GM in sales so there is a good chance the rebates will stick around for a bit on domestics so as i said its a good time to buy a slightly used one (did i mention i sell used as well )

300zx vs Corolla
Being a Toyota sales person I see a lot of Corollas with many many miles on them I have a customer that has an 03 with 300,000 and all he has done is change the oil. thats not to say there arent some "bad ones" but for the most part the are pretty darn reliable. I sell Hondas to and I have owned 5 Accord I still own 3 an 86 with 146,000 an 89 with 192,000 and a 96 with 124,000 on it and they all run very strong in my opinion you cant go wrong with either one however Corollas are easy to find compared to Z cars what ever year they are. As far as Chevy and Toyota they have done some joint projects in the past like the Geo prism/corolla same car These were built by NUMMI (New united motor manufacturing co) this was a joint Toyota/Cheverolet plant in Ca that only built Toyota products but were rebadged as Chevys/Geos

girl with windows.
Hah I thought that silver looked familar. I sell Toyotas and they use that color on the scion xa as well. Its a very nice silver it has a nice sparkle in the sun. Thanks for the kind words I got the wheels last year and the center caps didnt fit so I took the spinners from my old appliance wheels and put the Z emblem on them and thought it looked good so I kept them on. I think it keeps the classic look Im very happy with how they came out. Good luck with your Z cant wait to see the finished project. Do you think it will be ready by summer?

Good Luck with it.Its a never ending quest there is always something else to do to it so have fun in the process. This site is a dream come true for those of us that dont have the knowledge. I joined the site in 2005 knowing only general things about Z cars and now my knowledge has increased 10 fold if not more. I love Z cars of all kinds and owning one is all the sweeter.:classic:

Howdi!
Not to bad. Do you have plans to restore it or just drive it? Either way you will have fun with it.

Acetone in your gas!!!
I just bought another Honda Accord for $100 and it gets 32mpg and all I have to do is put plain old gas in it and it even has a current inspection sticker. That works for sure no if ands or BUTS.
