Good 240Z engine rebuild shop in Bay Area?
You could always build it out into a stroker, but I don't think you can get all the way to 3.1L with an L24 block, at least not safely. If I recall correctly you can get to about 2.7L safely, but you'll need to start with an L28 if you want to go to 3.1L.

What famous street?
Yep, been down it many times, however it's very narrow, and very steep. Even without the people, it would be hard to go more than 5mph, but it's worth doing if you're there. I grew up half a block outside Pebble Beach on 17 Mile Drive. Nice place but just one among many. My favorite was always the drive to to Big Sur. Now that I'm up north a bit in Santa Cruz, my favorites are Hwy 9 and Hwy 1(PCH) up to Half Mon Bay and San Francisco. But again, a few among many great drives in California.

Are there any Fees for a NON OP 1st gen Z car?
I believe the non-op fee is $25 dollars for a vehicle that's already registered in your name, but I could be wrong. The DMV has a pretty good website. I''m sure the fees are probably listed on there somewhere. Check here: http://dmv.ca.gov/vr/fees.htm

5spd id site
It's on the site Darrel mentioned above. Here's a link to the actual page since you were too lazy to actually look for it yourself. :lick: You'll need to scroll down a bit to get to it. http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/ratio.html

where to begin
Well we can't speak too much to the rust issues without some good pics, but I recommend a full analysis of the condition before making any decision as to whether to move forward with the existing shell or not. At a minimum, you will need to take out all the floor carpeting, padding, and tar pads to get a good look at the floors. However, there are several other areas that might disqualify it before you go to all that trouble. Namely the front frame rails, specifically where they join the passenger compartment near the T/C rods, especially on the battery side. If this area is heavily rusted and coming apart already, you may be better off finding a new shell unless you have lots of $$$$ or a friend with some excellent fabrication skills and the desire to work for beer. Anyway, this is all based on info gained from reading the rust threads on the forum here. This topis has been hash over time and time again. Check out the search feature, you'll find lots of info on this topic.

Off goes my baby...
You're a better man than I. There's no way I could stand the anticipation you must feel right now. I'd be known as the "Asshole with the Z" among the friends of the body man.

Holy crap Toecutter, that's probably one of the most appalling things I've ever seen, thanks for ruining my appetite.

I was just messing with ya Fred. Don't get your panties in a bunch. Here's a bar front bumper bar on eBay for whoever wants it the most. Not a rear but hey. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180091302761

Winter Photos for you southern Z'ers to see :D
The neighbors must love that guy. No wonder property is so cheap up there.

Should I save this one?
I think you should part it out and sell me that Euro bumper dirt cheap!
-
A little morale support please.....
It looks great. Doesn't get much nicer than that. And if it's a dash cap, someone did a real nice job installing it. I hope it's not.

anyone got an electronic dizzy rotor?
Are we talking about the same part you can get for under $5 at a local parts store? Are you just looking for a picture for comparison?
-
How the motor works?
Ok, I'll ask the question. What does itb stand for? Inline Throttle Body? If that's what you're interested in, you can buy a complete kit at Top End Performance here: http://www.racetep.com/ztripdcoe.html#twmtbod

Should Zs be in a museum or on the road?
Cars were designed to be driven, and unless there's only 1 or two left, it should be. How much is up to the owner. Period

video clip of me getting busy with my Z..
The car sounds and looks great Mohamed. For a second I too thought you might have added a turbo, but as I listed closer, I recognized it as exhaust hiss. If it annoys you, you may be able to get rid of the hiss by changing the exhaust tip. Anyway, look like you were having fun. Thanks for sharing.

New Club DVD!
Why let such a great resource go un-leveraged. Is that even a word? Anyway, why not just link to the online resources directly from the DVD? I assume we're not going to be viewing this from our TVs......although that's certainly possible if you're a true geek and already have a Windows or Linux based media center already set up in your home theater room. Honestly, I'd have one of I had the time to set it up.

Restoration is back on track (with a lot of help)
Congrats on finally getting is finished and back on the road. I'm sure it must feel great to finally be able to enjoy the car from behind the wheel. I love the triple SU setup. Very unique and visually appealing. How does it perform with them?
