  1. I'm not in the market but I'm sure someone out there would love to take it off your hands.

A mushroom? That's ok, I'm used to being fed bullshit and kept in the dark.

Hey Miles. just curious what the yellow and red sections on the speedo signify? Is this an RPM warning because your car doesn't have a tach, or is it something else?
  4. Welcome aboard. Are you still looking to sell your Z or have you had a change of heart?

This one's not for sale but it's defininetly worth a look. Try not to drool on yourself too much. http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/
  6. Chris, The circlips that hold the u-joint caps in place are found on the inside of the flange rather than the outside like some others. They are not covered in any way and clearly visible if you remove all the dirt and grime. You can pry them off fairly easily with a screwdriver once you figure out how to do it. Once you have all the circlips off, you can then use a vise and some spare sockets or the Harbor Freight U-Joint tool to remove the u-joints from the flanges. See the link below for a pic of this process being done on a Jeep driveshaft. You'll see the circlip removal and the use of the Harbor Freight u-joint tool. http://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/ujoint1/u-joint-1.htm

The hose fitting on the float bowl is an overflow that normally goes to the air cleaner, which is supposed to keep fuel from dripping onto the hot exhaust manifold. In reality, it doesn't make much difference.

Driving a stick is easy. You'll get the hang of it in no time at all. Starting on a hill when you're learning is the hardest part but can be made much easier by making proper use of the handbrake. I'm sure you'll be banging gears with the rest of us in no time. S.H.I.F.T
  9. All I gotta say to your pics is WOW! And I'll repeat, what a find! You one lucky son of a !@@#$%! Give the paint a good polishing and drive that friggin thing or I'll ahve to come beark my foot off in yer a33!

Unique pattern? What are you talking about? It's a standard 4spd with an H pattern and first in the upper left, isn't it? Or did you somehow luck out and get the special race tranny with 1st on the bottom?

Ok, that's just ridiculous! $1100 bucks for a set of Datsun taillights! Gimme a break ppl. Someone has too much money on their hands.

Congrats Ken. Good to see you finally get a ride. It looks to be in very good condition for the most part. Don't tear it apart right away. Fix the things that need fixin' and drive it for a while before you start getting anal about everything and tear it apart.

That's awsome Ron! I'd love to see more. Seems like maybe you need a spoiler for your camera.

Forget about the E31. Too much trouble, too much cost, and not enough benefit. If you've got an L24, stick with the E88. If you've got an L28, get an N42. Don't worry, be happy.

Welcome to the board. Lotsa great info and great people willing to help. Good luck on your resto!
  16. I agree completely. Posting the swap meet pictures was just cruel and uncalled for. Go a head and twist the dagger since you already stuck me with it. If I could only find such a cool assortment of wheels at a local swap meet I'd be in heaven.
  17. Not everyone like computers and the Internet you know. Some people actually have lives...

Hard to say what it's worth without all the details and more pics, but my guess would be somewhere in the range of $4000 - $5000, of course the real answer is whatever someone would pay for it.

And on my 4/73 240Z it's mounted to the RT strut tower.
  20. Hence the one of the primary reasons I bought a 73'...... But who knows what good old Arnold will do to us enthusiasts next. Hopefully Jay Lenno slapped him hard enough last time to knock some sense into his steroid damaged brain.
  21. Quite the find there. Congrats on your new Z. If I were you, I would drive the thing for a year or so before tearing it down for a repaint. Enjoy it for a while if you can and don't be in a rush to paint it. T he paint looks good from here.

Is that air dam metal or glass? In either case you did a nice job blending it. It almost looks factory.

I though you were selling your car. Am I confusing you with someone else? Just slap me if I'm trippin'.
  24. Bummer. Carl will definitely be missed. I was really looking forward to meeting him one day being that we live in relatively the same area. I truly enjoyed reading his posts and watching the sensitive get all worked over some of them. His contributions were often both insightful and on some occasions inspiring. Carl was definitely a straight shooter. See ya in the big Z house in the sky Carl!

Welcome to the fray! Where the heck is Hercules? Never heard of it. Guess it's map time.
