The mosh pit eats another set of keys. Bummer.
  2. Man, I wish I could afford this right now. Any chance you'll still be making them in a couple months?
  3. =Enigma= replied to clutchdust's post in a topic in Open Discussions
In that case, I sincerely hope you never find one.
  4. Well, I'm single now and fairly happy with the way thing are right now, although I wouldn't mind having someone to share my life with besides my son. He's really the center of my life right now. My problem is that I'm so comfortable with the way thing are at this point that any woman would have to be a very special for me to consider changing my current style of living, but I'm certainly open to it. Now, if I could just find an honest, sane, reliable and decent woman interested in automobiles, computers and the outdoors I'd be in heaven. The biggest problem has been the honest/sane/reliable part. I must be looking in all the wrong places.
  5. Not sure if you're storing an engine complete with carbs, but another thing to do is to block off or remove the fuel line prior to engine removal and run the engine until it runs out of gas. You don't want that old gas gumming up your carbs while it's in storage. If you have the older type float bowl with a drain screw, you can always empty them that way, but I'd still run it out of gas to make sure the passageways in the carbs are clear as well.
  6. You know, I once had a GF do a search on one of the forums I frequented, and she didn't like what she found. Nothing offensive in my mind, but she felt different. Apparently talking about your significant other, unless you have nothing but rosy things to say, with a bunch of guys you don't really know all that well is a serious offense/insult. So be careful what you post, it may come back to haunt you.
  7. Where's the link?
  8. Here's a couple of images to help you out. The first shows the tie rod end and the lock nut you'll need to loosen to make the adjustment. The second explains how to determine the toe setting. While on the ground under it's own weigh, place marks on centerline of the front tire, both the forward and rearward facing portion of the tread. Then use a broom stick or something else you can make a mark on to measure the distance between the marks and do the math.

Welcome Jani. There plenty of info here on the ZX. I'm sure you'll find the board useful. Nice lookin ZX btw.
  10. This might also explain why going in reverse is so loud.

I guess I missed that one. Thanks for the pointer. The other 4 threads that reference the N33 head specifically are completely devoid of any useful information.
  12. =Enigma= replied to MC75Z's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
    I didn't know there was ever an N33 head, only an N33 manifold. I've heard of an E30, E31, E88, N42, N47, P79, P90 and P90a. You sure you got your facts/wording straight?
  13. Are you sure it was smoke coming out of the breather? Could it have been steam?

Looks great Doug. Are those the ones from MSA?

Those don't look like very much fun to clean. You are righ though, the yare definitely in period.

I have 4 goals. 1)find something different that not everybody has, 2)move to 15"s so I have more tires to choose from, 3)fit some bigger tires in there, and 4)allow enough room to fit one of the 3 versions of the Toyota caliper brake mod. I believe'81 280zxt wheels will allow me to accomplish #1&2. I'm not so sure about #3&4. Yeah, I guess they are a bit heavy but I really like them. Until I find something I like better or these won't help me meet my goals, they are the ones I'm after for now. Ok, go ahead and talk me out of it.

I was trying to figure out what those were called.. Any idea if I would be able to fit either of the Toyota caliper upgrades inside the ZXT snowflakes? The more I look at them the more I like them.
  19. =Enigma= replied to =Enigma='s post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
One of the reasons I am considering different wheels is due to the fact that I would eventually like to upgrade the brakes and my options are somewhat limited with the 14's, as well as the fact they are only 6" wide. Anyway, I've got some other things to do in the meatime.
  20. Thanks JK. That's great info to have. I'll keep that in mind when it comes time to mount up my build-up motor to the stand.
  21. Dunno, that's why I asked. I would re-use the bolts I have in my engine now, and they're "used".
  22. =Enigma= replied to rdefabri's post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
Pull it! I'll be doing the same thing as soon as I'm done with the suspension and brakes. I'm going the F54/P79 or modified N42 route. Still deciding on the head.
  23. Why would you want to use Z head bolts for an engine stand? Why not just go to your local hardware store and leave the Z bolts for someone who might need them? Am I missing something?
  24. =Enigma= replied to =Enigma='s post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
Yeah, I'm kinda looking for something different. I always thought gold looked good with brown. The Panasports sure look nice but like you said, there are lots of them around. You'll be the first to know if I decide to part with them rather then polishing them. They were already on there when I bought the car. The P.O. did a poor job mounting them. The driver's side is moved rearward and the passenger side was moved forward. I haven't tried to figure out why this was done but I can say that I hate the fact that new holes were made.... Ok, I'l bite. You don't really think I have all three and changed them out for the picture do you? This was a simple Photochop job. Thanks guys.
  25. Seems a bit pricey if you ask me. I'd expect a header to come with it for that price.
