Is this a good one?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1813154393&r=0&t=0 Take a look at this 72 Z for me everyone. After having my other Z totalled, i am in need for a new Z and im looking for 240 naturally. I live about an hour away from her and i am going to go see it on Saturday morning to take a good look at it. Im just wondering if its even worth looking at. The seats inside are POS's, but i have my original 72 seats so thats not a problem. For 2500 this seems like a good deal and leaves some room to work on it. Thanks all!

Who's going to the Motorsport show?
i am in orange county so its like a 15 min drive for me. im still thinking about whether or not im going...it depends if i have another Z by then and how much money i have left over. i would certainly be willing to lend a hand with promotion if i decide to go

she has style
i ditto that statement... it was hard to see my Z all destroyed...it felt like i lost a part of me, it was terribly depressing. but life must go on...only to get another Z!

Insurace Question
what i mean to say instead of "liability collsion comp" was liability and collision comp. the fault of the wreck has not yet been determined...but collision compensation covers any damage to the car. i got 5100 for a car that i only paid 2400 for

new muffler and exhaust system
i was going to buy the car back...but i would not have made any money off of it. the only thing good on the car was the engine...but its not worth that much. the cost of buying the car back and then disposing of it would be more than what i would get from the engine. i also didnt wind up gettin that 71...the interior was in bad condition

new muffler and exhaust system
im looking for a new muffler for my new 71 Z. the muffler on my wrecked 72 was awesome....but i have no idea what it was (i didnt install it, the previous owner did). i think he said something about dynomax...it was a loud one and i loved it. the previous owner had put on a new header and exhaust, but the exhaust hung down quite a bit (i dont think it followed the stock tunnel). but i dont care about that, all i want is that muffler back but the insurance company wont let me take it. so does anyone here have a dynomax or something thats pretty loud?

A horrible weekend for me
i just got the good news from the insurance company....theyre giving me 4800 for the car!
-
A horrible weekend for me
yeah...my insurance company is leaning towards 4000 right now. I only paid 2400 for the car (an amazing deal for its condition), and ive put about 2000 more into it for rims, a L28, and a new clutch with flywheel. So i think im getting a good price...all i gotta do if find a car for about 3000 and work on it a little

Lowered Z's

A horrible weekend for me
no...the guy in the jetta took of like a mother f**ker. no one got his plates or anything...so im gettin the fault for the accident and a HUGE insurance rate surge. unfortunately...there isnt much to salvage from the car except the seats (which we already removed) so now i just lay in wait of another Z and hope that i get enough cash from the insurance company to get one thats in good shape.

A horrible weekend for me
btw mike....my arm did go out of the car...but only while it was sliding, so i only got a smalle scrape on top of my elbow. Looking back...i do realize how terribly lucky i am to still be living...but a Z can never be replaced with another Z...ya know? Also...in response to axrph@wycol.com...the car was incredibly safe. It was retrofitted with shoulder belts which did one hell of a job holding me in place...i didnt moved forward an inch! The frame on those cars are buff and the car is light. Any new car that wrecked under the circumstances would have killed its occupants just because the frame in the roof is nothing like the Z's...it woulda just crumpled. There is a little bit of humor though...the accident occured on my way home from Jack-in-the-Box. When i returned to the scene i found a frech fry sitting in the gutter! Despite my mood, i chuckled at the sight. And to respond to Mike...its hard to say (seeing that it caused the death of my Z), but the roll was the craziest $^!# ever!!! Its kinda weird because while i was rolling i was thinkin "omg this cant be happening to me why me???" but it does give u a rush that youll never get doin anything else...and all i can say is im glad that i lived through and incident that not many people get to live through! But now every time i see a picture of a Z, or hear sirens i feel sick to my stomach...its hard on the psyche but the car is gone from my driveway so that should help a bit!

A horrible weekend for me
the damage is irrepairable. there is more than just the damage u can see in the pics...the rear axel snapped and the exhaust system just fell apart...the cost of repairing it all would be more that i put into the car so i just have to find another 240Z somewhere nearby....

A horrible weekend for me

A horrible weekend for me
3/9/02....the Z rolls. Some f***er cut me off at 7:00 at night . With the high speed of the roads here in Laguna Hills, CA....there was no chance of my 72 240z stopping in time. The speed limit on the road was 50...so naturally everyone was going about 60. Some guy in a Jetta VR6 cut out to pass the dude in front of him...but he happend to cut right in front of me. I was in the middle lane of a 3-lane road so i slammed on the brakes...let up on them....dodged right and reapplied the brakes....anyone who has driven a Z at those speed and turned while braking knows the feeling...the rear end seemed to life off the ground and kicked out. The front end of my car hit the curb and i rolled twice. Two d**mned rolls!!!!!! The car landed right side up but was totalled. The bad part is that just two days before the accident i had put a 1982 L28 with my 72 SU's on it with a brand new clutch and flywheel:( . But luckily we had collision comp on it so i get the money back. Look at the pics and weep....no Z should ever look like this....

L28 in 72 240z...
has anyone here done this conversion? a rod just blew on my original L24 and the engine is frozen up and unable to be rebuilt/refurbished...so i am left with buying a new engine. i couldnt find anybody with a L24 but found a 1982 L28. Does the L28 with 72 SU's really make a difference in performance? the compression ratio is lower, but the engine is lighter. Im in a bind financial wise and since the L28 is cheaper, im thinkin about it...but if performance isnt as good ill just look for another L24...

oversized pistons for L24
has anybody done the oversized piston updrade from Motorsport Auto? I am still thinking about improving performance without a significant cost and the pistons sounded intriguing. What kind of performance boost could i expect out of the .04 oversized? More HP or what?

Tach doesnt work
the guy said its a 280zx electronic ignition...but i would have to verify that after my car gets out of the shop.
