Hello, I am not getting spark to the plugs and I need a favor from someone with a 1981 280zx turbo. Can you please take a picture of the coil. I bought the car with a missing distributor and coil and someone hacked some of the wires where the coil is supposed to be. It would be great to be able to see what is supposed to be there. If you could take a close up of the connections around the coil area I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!! I have added a picture of my problem with the wiring. I have included numbers next to the wires I need identified. Thanks, RIck

I don't know to much about this stuff but I am trying to understand it. I don't think puting a P90 head would require any modifications (sticking it on a none-turbo engine). To achieve a high compression you need to have flattop pistons. Any modifications are only to achieve higher compression but are not necessary. RIck

I would leave the turbo on it and transplant it into my 260z without a doubt if my 260z already had FI. The FI looks so intimidating!!!!!! If I do decide to stick with the turbo I think the smartest thing for me to do would be to get that engine running before I take it out. That way I know it does indeed work. Can someone with a 280zx tell me what is mounted on the right (drivers side) engine compartment. It looks like it must have been the ignition coil. Could someone maybe take a picture of that so I know what I need to find to replace it. That would be great! Rick

Hello all. I just purchased a 1981 280zx with turbo for 170.00. That was for the whole car with engine! I am going to take the engine and rear end and then junk the rest. I was only looking for a P90 head when I stumbled on this deal. Currently I have a 260z with an engine from a 1977 280z that I converted to carbs. My plan is/was to rebuild the engine and use the P90 head. Now that I have a F54 block and head I have more choices. I could: 1) rebuild F54 and P90 and convert to carb system 2) rebuild F54 and P90 and stick with the FI and turbo What would you guys recommend? If I try the turbo route what should I look for in the car? Looking at it the only thing I see that is missing is the distributor. I would appreciate any input as always. Thanks, Rick.

I have looked at a lot of sites that sell carpet kits for my 260z. I am wondering if the 5pc set is better than the complete set that is formed? I have never done this before so I am not sure the pro's and con's for each. Thanks, Rick

That is a good idea with the Mystery Oil. I was thinking of trying something like that too. I will try it and let you know if that works. Thanks again for the help. Rick
