Help talk me into this!!
Little known fact of the day: While you'll often hear the term "British Racing Green," a color by that name does not exist. British Racing Green stems from old GP races when each country had to have a specific color to identify the cars easily. Japan, for example, is (was) white. Any English car was then painted green, and shades varied widely. From bright to nearly black. There is no specific shade of green called British Racing, although it's up to individuals to decide what to call green.

Depressing turn of events...
Ahh man, that totally sucks. You had a good looking overrider too...mines all rusted and ugly. Guess it goes to show, these weren't built to take a hit.

Will They Fit?
YES! Whew...I was almost concerned for a few seconds until you pointed that out. Guess we dodged the bullet on that one.

Is this worth the price?
Check the frame, battery tray, hatch area and inner rear fenders for any rust. If there's ANY it needs to be taken care of before it becomes a problem. Not that a rust bucket Z like mine won't work, and still be a lot of fun, but not for 4 grand, not even with everything that went into that engine swap. Try maybe 3500 and see if he'll bite. If the car's in good shape body wise, it's certainly worth the price...and if the crease is in the front fender, you can still get them right from Nissan I believe, otherwise Black Dragon and MSA make replacements.

Any ideas on a stalling G20?
Quick post. The little lady has a 99 Infiniti G20 (non-turbo) that's been stalling out from time to time, and the idle isn't as smooth as it once was. This is an automatic tranaxle car. It's turned 126,000 miles, but I don't think of that as a lot of miles on a modern car. I'm gonna do the usual, new air filter and plugs, since she doesn't know when the last time they were changed. I'll get the oil taken care of while I'm at it. It's got a new battery and fuseable, since the whole electrical system cooked last year. Even now, there's no radio and no rear defogger. Too bad it was out of warranty. Any other things I should consider changing at the same time, so I don't have to drive to the auto store 80 times? Thanks! -Kelly

Arg! Stupid Kids!
I've been pegged with a BB gun while driving at night too, but not in the Z. My old Tercel didn't have safety glass rear quarter windows, and it just blew inwards. In the back seat was a single no frills steel BB, and the cops found a CO2 cartridge at the scene. Cost me 50 bucks to get a new window from the yard, but we won't mention how I broke a few while trying to get them out.

280ZX on Cop show
Ocassionally "Wildest Police Videos" will show a video from a homeowner that says "an early model Z tore up these bushes." Later in the video, with cops taking a report, a brown, 1st gen Z car comes sliding around the corner, but he either overcorrects or panics at the site of the squad and rolls it...right thru the same bushes. Sad for the car, at the driver.

Would you use these wheels?
no way. Put them on a rusty old van...that's what everyone with em seems to do around here...

Anyone close to my area?
Try filling out your location information in your profile. It's not unusual for several states to have counties of the same name.

the car just dies
Plugged fuel filter or pickup I imagine. Might be some rust in the tank or lines thats plugging you up after a few minutes of vacuum. Could be a bad fuel pump or broken wiring too, but if the car runs for a while, then stops, I have a feeling it's picking up sediment and blocking the fuel pickup.

Some Great Deals
Last one is a 1970, and the seller also claims to have a "rust free" 260Z for 1500 bucks...I wonder just HOW rust free...

280Z bumpers DO have a use!
You'd have to be careful though, because you'd hate to capsize your ship if doesn't hit bottom.

Noooo!
People seem to be really good at thinning the herd of newer Zs, huh?

280Z bumpers DO have a use!
I use em whenever I pull into the garage. I pull in til I see the old washer and dryer in front of me move.... They may not look so nice, but I'd take them over no bumpers any day of the week, and I'm too cheap and lazy to swap them for the 240s decorative bumpers.

seen on ebay Nissan GT-2 280Z -Tube Frame
Wow. If only I had 17 to 22k like he's looking for. Seems pretty reasonable for a turn key GT-2.

wont to buy 260z
The UK 260Z is a completely different animal than the US market car. It was not hampered by the same carbs as the US car, and did not require the larger crash bars mandated by the US. In the US, the 260Z is a bit of a rarity, but in the UK, the car was produced until roughly 1980, as the UK never saw the fuel injected 280Z that we got stateside. Instead, when the 280ZX was in production, the UK got it as the 280Z. In any case, frame rails, floorpans, hatch area, battery tray, all areas to examine for excessive rust before buying. Hope she's a good'n and you can live happily ever after.

How long will Battery last without Alternator?
I don't see why you couldn't make it, but make sure the battery has a full charge before trying. I know the fuel pump will run with only ~7 volts on the meter, but your lights won't work and the car won't crank. So if you're going one way with a new or good battery, no problem. Just make sure that new alternator works before you go too far.
