  1. Well, my exhaust is on his way to die... The wrap-around is worn to the point that it pops-in and out when the car runs cold with the choke.. Not a beautiful sound.. What are my options (brand, etc) and my car has a 2.5 inches pipe from the lower OEM headers to the end, no resonator), and I do not want to order anything in the States because of the exchange rate that is killing me and the fees at the CND customs also.. Help please.

Instead of getting smaller like clothes after the washing machine thing, they stretch too much, to a point they look like a rubberband ready to broke. Definilitely a turn-off for me... even sexually!
  3. Thanks for the tip, but I'll be teaching 10 hours a day, and in the evening also.. Won't have the time this time, but will plan to contact him for sure!!! I'll be back in Largo (near Tampa) in May and June, and Luly... So, plenty of opportunity!
  4. Ok, I'll try the WD40 as well as the tip for the choke. Lost the feeling of driving a carb car.. even if I'm 36....
  5. Ok, went for a ride tonight, it is a little better, but the car smell gas inside now at rest,.. Might be the vent line or hose.. It will have to wait for 3 weeks, I'll be in Virginia for my job for one week, then it,s our Largo office near Tampa, then Ottawa, Canada... We'll miss my Z.....
  6. Ok. (LONG STORY FOR SHORT PROBLEM, SORRY...) I don't have a garage, so as usual my car sat outside under a car cover, but it was so windy yesterday that I had to remove the car cover (wind blew it off), so my Z ( :( slept outside in the rain for the whole day. I was able to borrow a free place in the garage of my step-father last night, so I start the car full choke, no prob and parked it inside. Off. This pm, I start the car again to put it out of the garage, full choke, and it ran well for 30 sec, then, the car did start to shake, RPM bouncing on anf off like crazy, and the car almost stall even with gas... Now the idle is pretty rough, and I did check under the hood, no sigh of water on any electrical components.... What went wrong?? Humidity in the coil? Cap rotor (brand new!)? Should I spray some WD40 on the distributor, coil, and cap?? Would it help?
  7. OK, this pm, dismantled the black frame aroung the taillights, and in fact, the whole rubber frame is rotten around the lights.... I did try an easy and temporary fix, did put some MONO (like we put around the window frames of our homes) and I'll have to see if it's ok. It should seal for a moment. I didi lower the catch for the hatch like you told me, again, will have to wait to see for the fumes... I did try to dismantled the interior panels in the rear inside quarter , but the little funny buttons that holds the panels in place did not want to pop-out... So I quit, afraid to brake them... I'll have to wait for tomorrow, since the weather looks more than fall today.. merde....
  8. I'll definitely try it over the week-end Daniel. Merci beaucoup!
  9. OK, lots of fun for the week-end!!! I didi read some other post, but wanted to have a concentrate solution. It might work this time,! merci beaucoup!!!
  10. Well, my 240Z does not have the cat anymore nor the air pump(have been removed) and a 2.5 inches exhaust from the lower stock headers to the end (nice growl) and a resonator at the rear end.. Each time I drive the car, I have a bad smell in the car, like poisonous...exhaust fumes... My seals on the hatch in the back are ok, but I'm getting sick and having nausea driving the car... Not funny... Any tips? What about putting a double tip exhaust in the back curved upward? Would it help? See the pic of my exhaust on the far left.... Could be the fule filter, clogged fuel line, or a bad cold sensor in the MAF... sends a lean mixture , but waaay to lean for cold start... Electrical problem with the fuel pump maybe?

Ok, I agree with u, but the point is, I do drive carefully (having done karting school, rally driving school, co-pilot school, 2 seasons of SOLO, 2 season of rally sprint), but in my defense, I was on the right lane, ready to take my exit, so I was close to the concrete, and there was a lot of cars around me... I was at the wrong place wrong time, that,s it. Just yesterday, a youngie in his Hyundai alomost hit me and my Z just because he was looking at the car while overtaking me on the highway... Sucks to be them to drive badly... not my case, but I behave like all the others are a threat for me now with the Z....:tapemouth

I agree, but people with cars don't carry loose items unattached in the back..... Anyway, I don,t puts the blame on truck, I'm being sarcastic, french humor, I'm just really pissed off by le con d'imbécile....
  19. My Z did came with bizarre tire size. 197/70/14. Is there any other way to know what is the right size I can put, (I want to stick with 14 inches)? 195 looks borderline for the rear clearance of the fenders... Help me please!

I went to do an evaluation of my car for the insurance, and while I was crossing the Champlain bridge in Montreal, a pick-up truck lost 2 big estie de tabarnak de carpets in front of me. They just flew off the bed... There was a cube truck following me, so I could'nt brake (hit in the rear end did not sounds good to me), and I could'nt swerve left nor right, there was 2 cars, so I took one carpet in the front spoiler, and it made a nice chip in the fiberglass as well as lots of scratches in the lower portion of the air dam... Putain de bordel de merde! (I'll let you find what it means in english...) So, I have a cracked and chipped front air dam, where we can see the fiberglass.... Beware of pick-up trucks, they are our ennemies now!
