Yep, that's what I'm gonna do as soon as the snow disappear... A good mechanical inspection is a must, nut the owner is kind of nervous, because he did not want to change his price on the car... 7500$US, is what he wants... I agree on this price, and gavve a 750$ deposit, but my final move will be after the inspection.... and I think he does not like that.. Damn, I should have wait, but I do want so much this car... I don,t want to look like a fool, cos a lot of guys from the ZOOM Club in Montreal told me that I was paying to much for this car..... The seller has another 240Z stripp do the metal but with a new paint, and he needs $$$ to finish that project.... 75F you we're saying... Dman, need to leave canada definitely and move south....!!!

Ok, here is what I was able to gather form the previous onwer.. He told me that the car was caughing a blue puff of smoke each time he was shifting the car.. So, is it the valve seals or the rings or worn valves? help me!

Do any of you know if there is still some road test made by either Road and Track or Car and Driver for the early Z or up to 1972 73?????? I'd like to read them but have been looking at many places without results... Please, help me!!!

Ok, that,s sound good to me. The car sat for 1 year without running. The previous onwer told me that the valve seals might have become dry??? Is he right, can it be possible? But, yes, be assure that I will make a complete check-up on the car this srping before finalizing my deal! Is 93 000 miles a lot on these engines? I know form the 2nd owner that he car was used a couple of time for Solo and some lapping... Anything else particular I want to check before, like clutch, tranny, bearings? merci!

Ok, another technical ?. The Z I'm buying will need a job on the valve seals. Is it long and expensive (in US$, I will make the conversion in CND$)! The owner told me the car is not smoking when running, but the engine is burning some oil... And, for the timing chain, is it recommended to change all the parts to do a clean job using that kit?? http://www.courtesyparts.com/S30-TBKIT.html Anyone did that before? Thanks for the inputs!

I found this one on the Hemmings web site. I was looking for that one, not perfect. some rust, but thre is a lot of pictures . I was considering that car, but now, I do not considered it now! Hi. I know this guy had one for sale in Wisconsin: 1974 Datsun 260Z, MUST SELL. I have owned the car since 1979. Black Imron paint. The body is in very good condition. Never seen a winter. Interior is in good condition. Engin: Three weber duces, new header and custom european style exhaust, etc. I have ALL the original engine parts in storage if wanted. I have replaced the cluch, master and slave cylinders, breaks and master cylinder, alternator and a few other items. New tires, etc. Make an offer!! Yeah, weather really sucks!! I'm not really in hockey, I'm more hot blooded than cold.. I'll try to post pictures of my car later on. I was not able to locate the famous smog pump in the Haynes manual... What does ti look like?:sleep:

Thankss! Well, from whaht I know from the previous owner, he did remove the smog pump, because it was eating to much power (I've heard 20-25HP???).. So, for the smog thing, I think I do n't have to worried about it anymore. The car is fitted with a custom exhaust line 2.5 inches just after the OEM headers. BTW, the car is still stored, it si winter here in Mtl, and for me, that really sucks big time....can't wait for spring time!!!:mad:

I'd like to know if it is possible to remove the big retangular box for the air filter and put instead rounded air filters like K'N ?? Any other brands and things that will need to be made on tne carbs settings?? Is it hard to do? Merci!

Well thanks guys!!!! Sure, our NPclub.com is mostly in french, but we started this site me and my friends last september, and, it is growing and growing!!! Many thanks for your precious input. I did saw the car, it is coming originally from the Toronto area but was bought by somebody from the ZOOM club of Montreal. The car is awaesome, lower suspension, Eibac spring, Tokico shocks, larger sway bars, urethane bushing all around, no mods on the engine. Can't wait to drive the car!!! merci!

I'm oplanning to have these items check in spring time: Gas Filters Spark Plugs Air Filter Prestone Fna bearing Trans and diff fluids checked Brakes and pads Fr and RR Something else that need to be check?? I'm pretty new to the Z cars.... Hi. I'm from Montreal, CND, and on my way to buy a nice 240Z 72. The car has 93 000 miles and need a valve seal job this spring (car is actually stored). I'd like to know what is the interval to change or do maintenance on the timing chain since i did not find any info in the Haynes manual... Thanks for your help!
