  1. That emblem is a chop.
  2. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing.
  3. There was a post(s?) about that car about 2 years ago on Hybridz. I think he is a member there.
  4. I know that this is THE site for complete Z-car knowledge and history and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about this oil pan I stumbled across? It is apparently a dry-sump setup, but it is much deeper than any other I have seen, and the pan is offset to the opposite side compared to a normal Z-car wet-sump pan. There are no identifying marks on it. Any help would be appreciated; i.e. who made it, specific purpose, etc.
  5. I agree with Arne and Zak, you used to be able to find deals at pawnshops, flea markets, garage sales, etc., but not any longer, all you find now is crap. On another note, it has also driven up the price of cars and parts at a much faster rate than they would have before ebay. Some may say this is good, because the value of our cars has risen, but for people on limited budgets trying to find cool parts, its not a good thing. Ebay has also given rise to people who have bought out entire inventories of parts from Nissan dealerships and are now selling these "NLA" parts for tremendous profits online.
  6. Usually the ones on ebay are DCOE 40s, from what I have seen DCOE 45's are not as common, and command a higher price.
  7. Like I said, I didn't mean to offend, especially you Mike, I really enjoy your site. I certainly did NOT mean to come across like I was telling him to away, I wanted to just suggest that he post over there (HBZ) IN ADDITION to here. From my internet Z car wanderings it seems that this site leans toward purist/restoration while HybridZ was founded for V8 conversions and has expanded to include all sorts of modifications, and the last of the Big 3 (ZC.com) is sort of in the middle with a lean towards the younger set but without everyone saying "yo, yo, wassup dawg" or speaking in Textspeak like the lesser garbage sites out there. I even did a comparison paper on this very subject for a web design class in college. If I want to read a thread about the proper wingnuts for a 1970 Z432 air cleaner assembly I know to look here, if I want to know how to adapt the T56 tachometer output to work in my LS-1 Z car, I look on HybridZ, and if I just want to interact with a bunch of Z car guys that spend as much time online as I do, I generally go to zcar.com. Bottom line is that I visit all three on a weekly, if not daily, basis because each one fills a need.
  8. You should post this over at Hybridz.org - there are more people over there that will appreciate it for what it is. This site leans towards the "purist" mind-set. Awesome work you do there by the way. No offense intended by my statement about "purists" - I visit three Z-car websites on a daily basis and all three fill a need in the Z community.
  9. You should go do a search at hybridz.org. It has been done, but it's not a bolt in procedure. You need an adapter and some machining done to your bell-housing if I recall correctly.
  10. I have heard this as: "Life is like a sh#t sandwich, the more bread you've got, the less sh#t you have to eat"
  11. The magnaflow muffler seemed a little unoriginal as well.
  12. Not defending him, but his terminology is technically correct. He words it carefully and is only claiming that the manifold is new, not the carbs.
  13. I vote for don't post. If I know someone is looking for something I will privately inform them. Too many times in the past I have been a victim of somebody spilling the beans on an auction that I hoped no one had noticed. I search ebay EVERY DAY. If someone else is too lazy to do their own searching they don't deserve to know about the auction.
  14. Try Blake Machine Co. in Phoenix, the guy that does the Z stuff's name is Bryan Blake. He posts on Zcar.com under the name 1_fast_z. He's the guy that built the DOHC z head out of KA24 heads.
  15. Very cool! I really like the mask in the blue one!
