  1. Thanks for the help guys. I'll be in touch with Mike. As far as Arkansas goes, I'm up in the NW corner, in Rogers. I'll be loading some pics of the paint/bodywork process as things progress. Bryan Dat240zg
  2. Well, activity on #248 has gone from nothing to light speed in a matter of one phone call. I found out that my painter is going to get me in as soon as I can get the shell over to him.....so..... Today looks like an 8 hour strip job - most of the shell was stripped when I purchased it, so it's just a matter of the front and rear suspension, doors, hatch, glass and some interior bits. Tomorrow it heads off to the stripper and then to Gary over at the Hack Shack (thehackshack.net) and 5 to 8 weeks later, paint should be done. Which brings me to my cry for help. I'll be dropping off all of the suspension bits for stripping and powdercoating and need to start collecting rubber plugs and bushings, etc. Anyone know of a vendor that may have a kit? I'm not referring to suspension bushing kits - more like the plugs and grommets for the body. I regocnize that I can pick up the majority of them from ebay (get killed on shipping charges), but thought that maybe someone may have a kit or a hoard of them sitting around. Anyone? BTW, thanks for any help! Bryan Dat240zg #248 #1793
  3. Bo: PM sent. Give me a shout. Bryan
  4. Nobody's scored yet due to my classes . I'll be responding to a bunch of requests for pics early Sunday. As far as the rotors, yep, they are the vented hats. Anyone? Bueller...Bueller... Bryan
  5. Jim: I'll be in class all day tomorrow, but will have the pics to you Sunday. Thanks, Bryan
  6. I just went and did a quick inventory. Basically, here's what I have: 2 brand new fiberglass headlight scoops, not factory, never used/mounted; 2 front brake rotors, used, but still good shape, early style hub; 2 sets of "behind the dash" hvac parts - no control panels or cables; '75 gas tank w/baffles, needs to be redone; Grille, from #248, one bent fin, otherwise very straight Very early radio, also from #248 (can't vouch as to whether or not it is the original, but never seen one like this - or whether or not it still works); Speedo, 81K original miles, from my early '70; Tach, from same car; Drivers side fender; and 1 early seat, in good shape. That's it! If you are interested in anything, let me know and I'll take pics. As far as prices, make me an offer - not trying to retire on these parts.
  7. Ladies and Gents: Not really an advert, just trying to figure out if anyone is interested in some of my random early Z parts - some from #248 and some from my early '70. I have a set of brake rotors off of my early '70. I had them on and replaced them with the MML vented kit. The rotors still have plenty of meat left on them. I'm cleaning out the garage and don't need them anymore. They have the early style flange. Also, HVAC parts, gauges, a grille, fender, steering column, etc. Literally an attic full and now I have to get rid of it. Mike - wasn't sure if this falls under an ad or not. If so, sorry about that. Give me a shout. Bryan Dat240zg
  8. Thanks Jim. I've gone out to my Z and can see what you're referring to. Thanks again for the help. Bryan
  9. Jim: Exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully I can scavenge a good connector and swap out the pins. Thanks again. Bryan Dat240zg
  10. Anyone have any pics of the connector that goes to the back of the actual ignition switch? My '70 did not have any wiring and I am needing to wire up a new connector. Anybody able to help? Bryan Dat240zg
  11. I purchased a R180 LSD that came without the stub axles. From what I can gather, the ones I need have the same spline count as the 81 - 84 maximas. Anyone have a set or know of a junkyard that does? My LSD swap is pretty dead in the water until I find a set. Thanks in advance! Bryan Dat240zg 240Z #248 240Z #1693

Mine doesn't have a plug or anything. Just a blank area where you would typically find the switch.

I own #248 and noticed the other day that the rear glass has no defroster grid and that the consol has no provision for a rear defroster at all. Anyone else have that? My #1793 has the vertical elements. Interesting..... Bryan Dat240zg
  14. Sounds great. If you have a chance to check on that, I'd appreciate it. Bryan Dat240zg
  15. Guys, I recently purchased #248 and am beginning the process of restoring it. Car is very solid with the exception of the passenger side rear quarter panel. I've been looking and haven't seen anyone listing them. Anyone have one that they would be willing to part with? Thanks! Bryan Dat240zg
  16. They were in the landfill, so I doubt that there is anything I could do about finding them, but there is a guy in the area that has several 2+2's that I'll try to run by and look at to see if he has a good set of doors for sale - he's the guy that I got my parts car from. It'll probably be a week or two before I can make it over there, but when I do, I'll let you know. Bryan
  17. Man, this is killing me! I had those things sitting around for so long, and had someone interested in them. My e-mail server went down (so I thought that he wasn't interested) and I ended up taking them to the dump! (I was putting an epoxy coating on my garage floor and had to get everything out.) Talk about a waste! They really were that nice, too. I wish that I could help you out. Bryan Dat240zg
  18. I have a set of very nice 2+2 doors, no dings and no rust, for sale. Doors include all hardware, glass and chrome surrounds. Sorry, but no door panels. I need to get rid of them, so make me an offer (trades will work too). Pics are available. BTW, I'm located in Fayetteville, AR. Thanks! Bryan Dat240zg

Geo57: The swap can be done (280Z system into 240z), but it's one of the tougher swaps that you would do. The 280 unit will fit under the dash opening on the 240 - but with zero extra space. If you decide to do it, then make certain that you have all of the parts including the hardware and the wiring harness. Also, be ready to cut some holes in your firewall (the most painful part of the whole swap) due to the fact that the A/C lines and the heater hoses are in different spots and to drill holes for new unit mounting bracket holes. Finally, to make the swap look right, you have to fab a new face plate to cover over the front of the dash. My 240 had the dealer aftermarket system when I got it, but instead of doing the easier thing and fixing it, I went ahead and dove into this barrel of monkeys. Now that I've gotten it finished, I think that I should've passed on it. :stupid: Oh well. Live and learn, I guess? Dat240zg

Yeah...If you part it out, I'd be interested in the wheels. Let me know. Dat240zg

E: Thanks for the offer of the seats; unfortunately I've had a major shift in plans and won't be able to go through with them. If someone else wants them then awesome! Thanks for the generosity

Is ther any chance that you would seperate the seats out? Mine are toast and I've been looking for a set of seats that I could recover. Any pics of the car/seats? Thanks in advance (either way! ) Dat240ZG
