Dead Datto's
You make me laugh Uras1, there were no decent panels on any of the cars but there was a dash that was intact on one of the coupes, I tried to remove the steering wheel but couldn't so gave up and left it. I recall that a car still had gearstick in it so I assume that it had a pedal box attached. I will call and get a price. There were a few door cards, I took all the coupe weather strips, one was rust free :classic: the owner of the yard made me buy a whole door for 100 just to get the window parts out of it so don't expect any favors. I don't want to make any money off of the parts, just knowing that they will go to a K that may cruise the streets is enough for me. I have a slightly rusted door that is pretty straight too now if anyone is keen.

Chrome bits? I thought it was all stainless steel Blk let me know exactly what you want and I'll call the guy up and see what he wants for them. Bear in mind that every "chrome" bit has dints in it. I assume that one of them would have had a manual pedal box but I can't be sure. The cars are located about 4 hours drive from Brisbane, I'm not going to post exactly where on this thread but if you want pieces let me know.

Looking for C110 guards and boonet
How much are you willing to pay? I know someone who I will see in about 3 weeks that I'm buying a guard from who might be able to help. Also why does everyone cut the radiator support out when removing engines? I had no problem getting my L24 in and out with the gearbox attached when I had it, It did spill a little gearbox oil. . .

Dead Datto's
I was thinking about it actually but I'm doing quite alright in life so I might see if anyone wants them from this forum before I bother to get them. They are located a long way from my house and the time it would take and cost to get them would probably outweigh what they are worth. As you can see they are very old and screwed, I looked at them all and they all looked terminal, maybe you would repair them if they were a bugatti or something. I might go back to cut out the bits at the bottom of the B pillar on the gold one as I don't have the split in the line on the vert and I want it. If you see anything you want let me know and I will weigh up if I can be bothered going out and getting it for you.

r33 calipers on 240k struts??
you can also use some types of DR30 struts as they have the 100mm caliper spacing. Check the thickness off the strut spring if its a S13 as I accidentally bought some S14 KYB AGX and the spring is far too big it fit inside the K strut tower, not sure if the S13 is the same width spring as the S14 tho. I'm about to list these on ebay, don't make the same mistake as me. I can't really give any other advice as I went down a completely different route with my K

Restored Carbon Fibre bits are absolute crap
If I was rubbishing the entire brand can you please explain why I suggest to people to buy the fibreglass items? I only rubbished the carbon and I still stand behind my post. I should have made the title "some of the parts I bought from restored were crap". I will ask for the title to be changed as it is a little misleading. In Restored's defense I am happy enough with the front lip to keep it. You stated that these parts we're a special request and that only two set were made, one for you and one for me. Do you really expect people to believe that restored only made two sets to begin with and not one for their showroom or cars in Japan? I remember it as being that they were a new item line that has just been made and will be on the website shortly. At no point did you mention to me that these were a special request order only, hence me calling bulls&^t on it Ben. Anyway, if the parts had arrived and they were without scratches, indents, white flecks, polished correctly and with thread holes attached I would have accepted them. If I were you I would have sent the lot back to Restored and asked for them to be made correctly or at least have them pay for them to be polished. When I order carbon I don't want to then have to pay for them to be finished off correctly. Are you saying that you are fine sending scratched and unpolished area pieces to customers as my photos show? Ben, I really do feel sorry for you as you have gone out of your way to bring in items for us (at very little profit too) that no one else will ever be bothered to do and in the end as you have stated only you have lost out in this whole episode. I may take offense to what you have written on this thread but no one can say you are not a fair person. For the record Ben refunded every cent I paid him on the parts, all I lost out on was some freight.

Sweet, being parked next to the best looking K in Australia would be an honor. I didn't bother with the show at all in the end, thanks for thinking of my though Leon/Errol, next year for sure. I ended up having a massive night with my friends and was in no condition to do much at all today.

Restored Carbon Fibre bits are absolute crap
We all know each other on this forum Ben Ellis, you can use my real name which is Andrew Ellard instead of referring to me as the OP. These parts are not "one off" as stated by Ben and are listed on the Restored.jp website for everyone to buy if they wish. http://www.restored.jp/gc110morl.html http://www.restored.jp/gc110bumper.html It is "very disappointing :finger:" what you have stated and is a total load off bulls%$t that these parts were ordered specially for me and as I recall Ben, it was you who suggested I should buy the trim parts as the bumpers I wanted would look silly without the carbon going the whole way around, I whole heatedly agreed with you and still do but I just can't accept the low quality of the parts that arrived. You and I both know that they still needed a lot of finishing work on them to get them to the state that they should be. I would like you to be honest and admit on this thread that what you have stated is not entirely true. What is obvious to me now is that I probably received one of the test sets or 1st ones made, hence the crap quality although this still doesn't explain the scratches, lack of polished areas and white flecks throughout all the items!!! I actually asked for you to credit me these parts and instead send me carbon guards and I would fix up the remaining cost, it was you who chose to refund me, maybe this is because you realised that the level of workmanship I require from carbon parts is above what restored can offer, only you can answer this honestly. After buying a few different items I feel I am in a position to offer advice on the quality of the carbon parts that came out and that advice would be to stay away from them. You may notice I only advised people not to buy the carbon and instead buy the fibreglass as all the issues I had would not matter with fibreglass. Ben, there are very few people in Australia who would be willing to spend the $$ required to put carbon on their K and I am one of them, you seem to be the only other. You did look after me and as I stated in my email "sorry for the stuff up you went through, I know it wasn't your fault that the quality was bad". I harbor no ill feelings towards you and was about to order a grill from you the other day, the only reason I didn't is that I bought a new main canopy for skydiving instead. I still want carbon bumpers, trim, bobtail, guards, bonnet and boot for my K but I don't feel safe in ordering the restored items as the quality was crap. If you can assure me that this isn't the case then maybe we can sort something out. If you are a person who is happy with spending money on parts and then having to get them polished yourself when they arrive maybe the restored carbon is for you but I am a person who excepts to get what they paid for and not have to finish them off when they arrive. No hard feelings Ben, I wish you all the best and everyone on this forum is very happy with you as you are the only person in Australia who is helping us out with these sorts of parts. We've had huge issues getting these parts until you came along and I can speak for everyone here that we thank you for that. Andrew

The Vert is Engineered ;) ;) ;)
Truth be told I'd actually be embarrassed to show the car at this point in time as the paint job is so crap, the front guards don't line up with anything. I've just scored some nice guards though so I will throw out my current ones and start again. I will be at the Nationals next year that is for sure, who cares where it's parked as long as it's there. In fact I think there is a post somewhere on here where Kent and I state that both our cars will be at the 2012 nats. If you want a laugh I'm about to post a video on youtube of me zapping myself with the high energy ignition system.

Restored Carbon Fibre bits are absolute crap
Needless to say I was very upset with the quality, after waiting for over 3 months to get my parts this crap arrived. Beware these items in these photos are still for sale from otomoto. I don't seem to have any photos of where the weave was stretched to show you

I should just put Nissan on the rocker covers and be done with it For all the newbies on the forum " When I decided to go the old school mopar V8 over the RB30/26 (I actually had the RB30 but sold it to a guy in the UK) it was purely a financial decision. I can buy all the parts to build a 390+ cube stroker from Summit Racing for $4300 US including alloy heads, roller rockers etc etc and this will give me an uber reliable, low revving 300rwkw engine with a mild cam that will last for years and years. I could then bolt up a centrifugal supercharger for another 3k which would give me easy 800hp with the right cam. On top of that with the V8 I have better weight distribution that with a straight 6, once I have the alloy heads the V8 is only a tiny bit heavier 15-20kg than the original L24. When you compare KW to $ ratio and take into account engine longevity it seemed a simple choice to make " Eventually I'd like an RB26 n/a running individual throttle bodies but that would cost heaps more and have less power but would be so much more awesome than the V8. Another benefit of the early 70's V8 is no emissions testing, the only downfall is upsetting so many people with the mopar V8. Seriously you guys should read some of the comments on youtube I don't allow to be posted, they always seem to be from people who don't own a modified car though, just lame trolls. Anyway the only thing on my mind now is get it registered and destroy as many tires as possible

Ah the nats, I'm actually booked in to go but I may not have enough time as one of my oldest mates is leaving to go live in America on Sunday and I might need to take him to the airport. Ray (organiser) kind of had a problem with my car going there as it doesn't have a Jap engine in it, after we gave each other a serve on the phone we have come to an agreement whereby my car is roped off so no one can go near it, I'm not allowed to have the bonnet open and my Datsun hat has to sit on top of the Mopar air filter. Lucky for me I have built it to take the RB series of motors otherwise he would not have let it in. Sadly, It looks like I may have to miss this one at this point in time as I have to put my friend first as I can go to the show next year but can't visit my mate easily anymore. I'll most likely drop in but it looks like the vert may stay in the garage that day. Pm me your number and I'll call you sat regarding it. The lift for a fee sounds better than the "void" unreg permit I was intending to use

Restored Carbon Fibre bits are absolute crap
I ordered carbon bumpers, trim, front lip and rear bob tail and was so disappointed with the quality of them when I arrived that I sent it all back to otomoto except the front lip (this will get chipped and scratched anyway) I was unhappy with how thin they all were, the lack of polished areas in visible areas and the trim didn't even line up properly with the boot and bonnet  The trim has to be glued on, one of the eyebrows was sent without the thread installed inside it. Only one layer of carbon sheeting was used and help up to the light you could see through it, the weave had been stretched in a hell of a lot of places and looked crap. My advice to everyone is not to buy any carbon parts from Restored, the fibreglass would be fine as you have to paint it yourself. I'll post pictures shortly.

The Vert is Engineered ;) ;) ;)
As of yesterday the vert is engineered, I now have 3 months to get it registered in NSW or the engineers slip is not valid. I managed to drive it on the road for about 17 minutes with an unreg permit until the cops pulled me over and asked me to drive it straight home. Apparently if you don't have mirrors, rear arches, bonnet scoop, handbrake and wipers attached unreg permits are null and void I 3/4 floored it in 2nd round a corner and just fishy'd up the street The only thing the engineer didn't like is that the brakes are too powerful and can lock up, I think this is because I'm running a 5.2lt not a 2.5lt and the vacuum is too strong, it's only running a 350cfm 2 bbl holley and the engine is gasping for more air creating a very strong vacuum. With the car switched off the brake pedal can not go to the floor with it running you can push it to the floor and the booster seems to just bulge out and stretch. Needless to say you can just touch the pedal and you stop really really quick!!! every K should have R series GT-R brakes on them. A big scare was the allowable increase in wheel size, as the K came out with 5 inch rims they can only be increased to 6.5 in NSW  there is a loophole but I'm not posting that on the interweb. The track on the vert is now 1480 or 1520 with spacers front and 1555 on the rear. It drives awesome but still needs to have a lot of finishing work to get it too the stage I want it, the gearbox is not so good and needs to be replaced with a supra 6 speed asap. I have finally found some window pieces at a wreckers (no thanks to the people on this forum ) so I will now have a drivers window too, let me know what people need and I'll check this coupe out and see if it has it. The reason for my absence is that I was just spending too much time and money on the vert so I just left it in the garage to gather dust for a while and went skydiving instead. I'm now keen as to get it registered and get some love back from it instead of it just draining me. I plan to drive it in the base coat and **** garage paint job I gave it for a year and then strip it right back down to bare bones and give it to a paint shop to finish. My front guards are rooted and don't line up with anything so I'll be redoing them shortly. I'm toying with the idea of getting it tattooed with a mural of godzilla smashing king kongs face in with a city Skyline in the back ground and maybe a little Mario crying in a corner. Every mate has asked me not to but it will only be for a year or so as I save for the engine rebuild (390 cubes/400KW flywheel) and paint job. The plans to supercharge it are off the cards as it is pretty damn quick with just the std $1000 engine and gearbox in it now, a supercharged V8 would just make it too powerful. Oh and lastly I have found out where all the coupes get too, I know a local Brissy guy who has 7 of them, one GT-B and 3 C210 coupes as well as other assorted cars. He is the traditional hoarder and will not part with anything. The one saving grace is that he has all of them on concrete and covered up with a cover and tarp per car.
