  1. Thanks seerex. Looks good there but the paint peeled off in no time. Next time I'll try ceramic coating. Live and learn. It is a good thing the engines come out so easily.

Thanks, but after all that rubbin' I had a lot more to do to keep up with the guys in my class. This was my first show in street modified and I felt like I was still in kindergarten. I still need to do more, but it is all in fun. I just love to get ideas and motivation from other guys rides.

Just back from New Hampshire Convention and it was awsome. The cars there were the best Z's I've seen in a while. I had a small carb problem the whole week and didnt get my share of pics. I was too busy trying to get the car to "sing" like the others that were there. I want to thank Ken for getting my pic in the Show gallery. The only pic that represents my showing is when Mr. K stopped by my car and blessed it.
  4. I went with 6-1 header from Arizona Z-Car. Right after the flange I put a 22" resonator and a 15" resonator where the muffler should be. It sounds great. Not too loud but not stock.

Hi all, is anyone going to the National Convention in New Hampshire? I'll be there with our Z club, ZANY, and I would like to meet some of you there. We are all just avatars on the screen. Many people ask me "why the long face?" but I look different in person. It should be a fun time and maybe it wont snow!!

Hi, thanks for the compliment. More pics to follow. It is an L24 from 71. The carbs are the same vintage. The vin # is HLS30-19856. The car had a vibration and a small amount of wobble at 60 mph. A different driveshaft and recent wheel balancing has the car floating over the road. It almost has too much reaction when the steering is touched. After the engine went back in, the open header was LOUD. My neighbor said, "THAT THING GOT A HEMI?". It has a real nice low rpm rumble like a big block. But ,alas, I muffled it at a local shop with a 22" resonator right off the header and a 15" resonator at the bumper. It sounds great and I can actually start it in the garage without scaring all the pets. Now I just have to get it cleaned up for the Nationals in N.H. Is anyone here going to make the trip? P.S. The horse in the pic is ZZZZZZZZ - ing.

Hi, you are not alone. I have been slamming my doors for a year and they still dont fit right. VB rubber seems too thick. I was almost tempted to order through JC Whitney (oh my, what am I saying!!) just to try a different set. "Keep it out in the heat". That didnt work either. Mine is a 71 240z. The door lines up with no rubber but aint close with it in.:stupid: Later

Hi all, I am looking for some input on detailing my engine. It is a stock L24 and I want to buff out anything that will shine and paint the block. Headers are also a thought. Thanks for all your help,Tom
