I like alot of the original colours - they are distinctive. That looks pretty sharp to me.
  2. What if you fall in love with a Celica later?

Jim I'm on the cusp of doing the 82 5spd into the 77 Z - clutch is finally failing and the tranny has been sitting on the garage floor for a year, forced to do it. What about the r200 3.545/82 5 spd combo.
  4. They are pretty reliable cars when you get em set up - There is lots of information in the search funtion that can help you find the information that you need regarding most anything about any of the original style Zs. Befor you spend any money you should do a simple trouble shoot of your electrical system, by disconnecting one plug wire at a time and listen to see which one has no effect on your miss - thats the trouble cylinder. Then check the corresponding efi connection (after you hook the plug wire back up) - manipulate it a little - she may light up and reveal the culprit. The connections are a common fault -as they age they fail due to corrosion, brittle plastic ... causing a miss. Clean up the connection or replace the clip could be your fix for little or no money. Hope thats helpfull. As a family car - your call. As a car - well this is the Classic Zcar Club - not going to hear too much negative around here. If the car has no rust - to me sounds good. By the way, Il'd be carefull around here implying which is the best of years - might touch a nerve. Good luck.

Neat story - I'ld like to get my 71 back, but the guy I sold it to was rear ended by a frontend loader - unsalvageable. Boo Hoo.

So you added the cut out. Up here we don't use front plates.

Very nice - that Bra is pretty neat too, I've got one but it doesn't cover the bumper.

If I had $45k to blow I would give it to my daughter to help her buy a new house. I can see spending $10k on a real nice stock looking Z. I go for the "each to his own deal" but you gotta have alot of money to blow to to spend $45K on someone elses dream.
  9. That was a pretty easy one to figure out Carl.

You should be publishing - hope you dont mind but I have ignored copyrights and used your material.
  11. I agree "it is worth what an idividual is willing to pay" and it is beautiful, but for me - it's not that appealing - I like Zs that look like they rolled on the factory floor, that one is a little too personalized for me. 45k - that's alota beans.
  12. Thanks for the responses - If you ever need someone to look at a Z in Newfoundland - I'm your man Yes, that is the deal for me - low or no rust, straight frame, matching numbers, otherwise best I can get for an economically viable financial exchange:rolleyes:. The shipping is a fixed number, but a rusty carcass is not - that more or less compells me to go cross country. Seems far fetched, but I've done alot of looking. Friartuck thanks - I will post when I am certain.
  13. Keith I can't call right now due to the satilite charges from the ship, can I PM you when I get the details? Hopefully tomorrow.
  14. Ya I kinda thought about that as well - that would suck in a rather extreme way. I figure you gotta have faith in people.
  15. I completely get it - thanks for the response though Stephen. I am wondering if I should open a new thread with the area in the header.
  16. Just heard from the vender, turns out the car is in Redding - I guess thats just about as far Noth as North goes in California - sorry. I saw some additional pictures and, both front fenders are damaged and the radio facia/heater is missing, but otherwise not so bad. Anyone in that neck of the woods in the mood for a drive?
  17. It's a small world - I lived in St. John's for many years I am presently just outside the City.
  18. Zs ondabrain I like the Classic Z.com on top with "Drive it like you stole it" on bottom or preserving......, but not so much the specific model. The club has alot of different models.

That Senility Prayer cracks me up every time I see it.
  20. Hey Guys thanks for the responses. I am waiting to hear back from the vender, with details. It does appear to be a good deal but without a first hand look it's hard to commit. It's a 71 with some repairable fender damage. The lady tells me it runs great and what's there is original. As to distance and driving - I've done it befor - the 280 came by rail ($$$$) the 240 I drove home from British Columbia (Coast to Coast) wouldn't mind doing it again. But this one may be a rail job as well. I'll post again when I have the address. Hey Gregg where is your brother in law located?
  21. Hello fellow Classic Zers, yes that's right I'm sucking up. I recently located a 71 that is slightly damaged but according to reports roadworthy and not rotted out. I am now wondering if there is anyone in So Cal willing to take a look at the car to verifiy that is worth the time and effort of dragging it to Canada.
  22. I've looked at a lot of cars and been disappointed many times. If it is as it appears, it's a beauty.

Excellent videos - what Zs are for.
  24. I like it too, mark me down.
