7/71 240Z Pedal Box Dilemma.
Glassguy, You're absolutely right. There is no need to change the pedal box. The mount for the clutch pedal is already on your vehicle. Just swap out manual pedals for the correct line up, remove the cover on the firewall for the clutch master cylinder and start bolting up. The larger cutout for the manual trans is already in the tunnel. All you have to do is cut out the panel that was spot welded in at the factory for the automatic transmission. Good luck on the swap.

E85
Big rubber gasket in the mechanical pump. I'm running an electric pump but I'm sure there is rubber in there somewhere. I would think the steel fuel tank, needle and seat assembly at the float, and the nozzle would be the main obstacles. I've noticed a couple of companies building E85 capable 4150 Holley carburetors. It would be neat if someone(Bruce) made an E85 Hitachi.

Has anyone thought of setting up SU's to run E85? Is it even possible? Would the nozzle be the only issue? Just curious..

BD or MSA
Has anyone tried the new kits from Vintage Rubber ? Les speaks very highly of them and their website gives indication that they are serious about their product and are not afraid to stand behind it.

PO had attempted repairs to rusted out floors by simply overlaying them and riveting in place. I figured since we needed to replace the floors we might as well restore the whole car!

HELP! All Mechanical Eliminated- Wont rev past 4K
Has anyone given much thought to the damper springs in these round top SU's? We are all running these carbs on 2.8L motors when they were designed for a 2.4L motor. Could the 37 year old springs be worn out causing the damper piston to rise too quickly thus leaning out the motor or be too small in the first place (2.8L motor)?? I have this same problem on my 2.8L running 1972 round tops. The motor starts running rough at about 4500 and often will quit pulling at 5500 RPM. I have thought about calling Joe Curto and buying a set of the heavier damper springs for an HS6 SU but mine need rebuilt so I'm just going to send them to Z Therapy and fix the problem for good!
