  1. It probably is the same one.that is where I got it.There was a lot of problems with it and it took 2 months just to get it on the street. There are a few more issues I need to work on but like today I took it for about a 3 hour drive.Like I said, it was worth every bit of trouble.
  2. After almost 2 months of electrical problems, I finally got my toy up and running. Thanks to everybody in the clubs postings I was able to find parts or fix what I had to repair my toy. Right now she does fine but as everybody knows you never get finished. There is more I want to do but right now I just want to drive it.

I have been trying to find one for about a month on a 70Z with no success. If anyone has information I would be grateful.

Depending on the year most of your tail, brake, marker light's go thru the hazard switch. I just had the same problem this week. It was a two part problem. first the fuse holder had burned due to constant heat, bimetal corrosion, and age. After I fixed that I found my flasher switch had a lot corrosion on it's points. I could not find a replacement switch so I got some contact cleaner and a contact file and fixed mine myself. It seems to be working fine now but has only been two days. Let me know if this helps.

Not even close. Muscle cars had brute power for acceleration, and my z's had great handling and performance. For pure fun cruising and winding roads it is like comparing 190 proof golden grain to a fine wine.

I bought my first 71 z in 73. At the time rust was was not a problem. All of the problems I had back then were self induced. there were hardly any Z cars around and I was used to american muscle cars and american made beer. Up until I got my Z I had owned a 68 nova SS 350,69 olds 442, 67 mustang, and my dad had a 70 trans am 455HO I got to drive. I did not understand you could not drag race every other day or just snatch it around for fun and not break something.I replaced many u joints and clutches. back then while I was in the army I had to choose between beer and oil. I replaced the engine after 2 years. My second was a 280 Z. I learned to take it a little easier and had only 1 problem with it. The only thing that will do more damage to you owning a Z than neglect or beer is a divorce. That should be in the owners manual. I just got my third Z. it is in great shape but now I have the regular problems that come with age. Fuse box burnt,a little rust, clock not working, and the normal cracks in the dash, I am fixing these in the order as parts come available.

I am trying to buy a used dash to send off to have restored for a 70Z. I know about the hole for the lighter and indent for the flasher on/off, but I have heard only a 70 model will fit because it is 1 1/2 inches smaller than a 71 model. I have been told there is no difference in a 70 to 73 except for the holes. I want to make sure before I spend all that money and get it wrong.

I was told I have the wrong door
  10. I know there hsve been a s**tload of fixes for repairing burnt fuseholders, but what I did was get a good box with a short pigtail and removed all fuse clips and wires from both boxes then used my long pigtail back in the good box. I then used one of the extra wire and clip spliced back to the old harness. I used a wire with the largest gauge to help from over heating again.

On my early 71Z drivers side door panel is 2 plugged holes at the same position as the pull handle on the passenger side. I have seen a pull handle on some model but I don't remember which. Is it supposed to have a drivers side handle on mine?
  13. I am new at this, but I just changed my fuse box in an early 71 Z and it had about a 10 or 11 inch pigtail on it. I saw one on e-bay,it was just the wires and it was the same length as mine. If some one can comment on this I would be interested to.
  14. Try something like mine RED 71Z
