Many of us here do that on a regular basis - scan or photograph bits and pieces of books and literature to use as reference on this site. How does that fit into this? Where do we draw the line? By the way, I admit I'm also guilty of stealing photos from the web for use on my site. All of the ones that I've taken from this site have been with the permission by the owner of the car/pic but I have stolen a few source pics off of ebay and maybe elsewhere I can't remember. Obviously my site is not for profit - there aren't any ads at all. It's also a reference source. Any thoughts on that? Here's the page I'm referring to: link

i'm sure that if it were rust free he wouldn't have to give it away maybe he should send it over to the Z graveyard just north of houston.

This came across the ZCOT mail list. >Mad Mike >I have a 76 280 sitting in my pasture. It has a fuel injected straight >6. The body is rusted but the glass and doors are fine. I do you have >anyone that might want to part it out before I send it to the scrap >yard? thanks > >Frank Farmilette >Fisk Technologies >Houston, Texas >281-850-1592 >

Hehe any Z enthusiest will know right off that it's a '70 because of the rear hatch vents and the non-vented pillar emblems. ALso there's a VIN engraved in the engine bay (on the DS firewall) that'll be hard to change. Maybe you could move to another state? Don't know what to tell you - it's risky for sure to screw with the plates...

Yeah I too step on the clutch when I start my car even though I don't have to. I picked that up from driving my MT sentra which had a switch forcing you to do that. But I never left it in gear either - always used the brake.
  9. mperdue replied to Zrush's post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
Only problem I have with parking in gear is that I always forget it's in gear when I start the car so it lurches forward when I let off the clutch on startup. I always use the parking brake and leave it in neutral.

I don't know, if I had the money I'd go for it.

Umm... current flow is the movement of charge from one place to another. There are 2 sources of charge, electrons or protons - and I can tell you right now the protons aren't going anywhere. So obviously the electrons are "flowing" and last time I checked the tend to move toward the positive side of a field. Before this was really understood electrical engineers or whoever had already chosen a "direction" of current flow in drawings etc, which is from + to -. So unfortunately conventional current flow in electrical drawings and analyses is opposite the actual direction of electron flow which is - to +.
  12. Hey Gee, Great video, but she cheated a little by using the beemer's traction control system (whatever that is). Not sure how that skewed the results. Interesting how the AWD vehicle had similar steering problems to the FWD car, just not quite as severe. I need to find a big parking lot to try out some of these moves to feel it for myself. That's probably the only way to really understand it, and most importantly to know how to respond in an emergency. Oh and as for the comments about snow - not an issue for me anyway being in TX but thanks for the info. On those 1 or 2 days when we actually have snow or ice I'll ride the bus michael
  13. got a pic of the wheels, and is there any chance you'd wanna trade or sale only? what size are they? condition? center caps? tires?
  14. That is very interesting. I have also heard that .................................. as well as ................................. Neat huh?

Hehehe, I said I found it to be impossible. On the other hand, the guy at the body shop had no problem backing it into the garage with no modifications to the dolly. It just takes practice - I didn't bother.
  17. Hey beandip - try not giving a sh!t anymore. It worked for me.
  18. mperdue replied to zhead240's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
You can buy plans to build one yourself on ebay for about 5$ if you're into that kind of stuff. They're fairly simple - be sure you get a swivel deck dolly and not the fixed-deck one. The swivel deck one's are much better on corners. I think pulling with the front wheels on the dolly without locking the steering wheel is recommended as it allows the car to follow the car and dolly around corners. But I found backing up almost impossible in that configuration - not a big deal in most cases though. Another benefit is that they're lighter than a full flat bed which was an issue with my Murano.
  19. Thanks M-Dub. I probably should have done a Google search first anyway.
  20. Well I've been driving my RWD 210 around for a month or so (4-speed) and I must say I can't really tell the difference between that and all of the FWD cars I've driven. About the only thing I've noticed is that it sometimes jumps over speed bumps with a different feel from a FWD car, but I can't really explain it. What differences should I notice or feel, if any? Is it more obvious when a car with more power such as a Z? I only drove my Z for 1 day before ripping it apart so I have no experience there.
  21. Yeah that's the obvious loosening - I was talking about settling of the parts ie. a freshly assembled axle may not spin quite as freely as one that's been on the road for 10 years. Mine are probably fine - they spin and don't make any strange noises or hang up. I torqued all bolts and nuts as called out in the manuals.
  22. Could it loosen up after driving for a little while? I hope it does anyway because none of my refit axles spin as freely as a driven car (front or rear). I figured the grease needs to heat up a little and the parts might shift to optimal positions with a little driving.
  23. I wasn't referring to you. I didn't suspect you reported because you are taking part in the thread! I suspect that most thread reports are reported either by someone who joins into a discussion to bitch and whine about the "direction this site is going" or someone who sits back and reads it through and it's too damn to stupid to just ignore it if he/she isn't happy with what's being said. Personally I don't care what you guys discuss on the site.
