WTB shifter knob
Ok it looks like a Z knob will fit my 210. If anyone has a decent to poor condition knob they wouldn't mind letting go of for a few bucks let me know. I'd prefer a "Datsun" or 4-speed knob, but if anyone has one that's lost it's decal that's fine too. Just need something to grab onto that's not broken. Please PM or reply here. Thanks Michael

Z knob size
Anyone know the size of the threads on the Z shift knob or shifter? An approximate size in inches or mm would be great. I'd like to find a replacement knob for my 210 but all of my Z knobs and shifters are out of reach in storage. I'm looking for a replacement on Ebay and I'm hoping a Z knob will fit. Thanks for the help! michael

want to trade wheels - dallas TX
It's a '79 - 210 (No "B"). I think '79 is when the body style changed to the more boxy one. what I need to do is find a Dat history page that will clearly explain these models. I've seen all sorts of names used for these (B210, 210, 120Y, 140Y etc) so I'm not sure what is what in the different markets. What I need to know is where to get parts! It's got a bad blinker/high/low beam switcher. I had to disable the highs to keep them off. Also I'll need brake parts for sure and who knows what suspension parts. And the air/heat blower is disconnected or broken. datsun1200.com looks like a good resource if I can figure out what my car is on the Oz market. Hardly anyone calls their car a 210 there. I'm still looking for wheels if anyone has a lead on that! michael

want to trade wheels - dallas TX
I just bought a 210 that has 280ZX 6 spoke rims with center caps. The tires are not good but the rims themselves are in good condition. I'd like to do a local trade for something else if anyone is interested. These are 14"x6" I believe. I don't want anything over 14" and even 13" is OK. I'll post or email pics if anyone is interested. Post here, send PM or email by clicking the email link below this post. Thanks michael (attached pic is my new toy/daily driver - hehehe)

Z on Ebay
I had a problem like this in my toyata pick-up long ago. It turned out that the tube that dumps condensed water from the A/C had popped out of it's hole (to the ground) and was draining onto the floorboard.

Forgive me father for I have sinned.
Another option you may consider is to paint it another "original" Z color. There were 10 or so colors available in '76 so there may be one that suits you. It's not keeping your car original but it's closer to it than painting in Camry Beige or VIper Yellow or whatever. The trick may be choosing one that goes with your interior - if it's black that's not much of a problem. Anyway that's the route I plan to take with my Z someday - going from 901 Silver to 113 Green Metallic most likely. My page may help a little: http://www.utdallas.edu/~perdue/paintcodes.html Sorry I dont have the application dates listed yet - been busy lately. michael

S12W and Wheel Spacer?
Just to clarify, the calipers used with stock rotors are marked "S12-8", not simply "S12". The others are "S12W". Michael

Anyone have an orange 280?
Well so far I've seen a couple of '78's, a '74, and now a '76, so most likely 110 was used throughout production after '70. Thanks for the additional info. Now I'm wondering, was this Z a 110 or 918? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2472321990 It sure looks 918 orange to me but it could be 110 for all I know. So far I don't have any evidence that 918 was used after '73 so that's another one to look out for. Michael

Anyone have an orange 280?
I've contacted the owner and this one is 110 Red and one of the last US 280Z's built. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2482186302 So it looks like 110 was probably used from '71 (when 905 red was stopped) through the end of the S30 Z's as Proxlamus' z would also suggest. Looks like the zhome list and my page need updates! Michael

Are you selling the fenders? If so, how much. Thanks, Michael

Beware of George G. Robbins (aka: reddat)!!!
Do your duty and leave negative feedback. Right now he's got 99.4% positive feedback - those are good odds so I'd still buy from him. Also the couple of neutrals I saw were regarding shipping costs. He doesn't list the shipping cost on the auction - big red flag to check before bidding...

Back Disc Brakes
That link to modern motersports is fine and dandy but you could do a similar upgrade with nissan parts for less money. You'll find the most detailed info by searching this site but to sum it up you need a set of rear caliper brackets from a Nissan Maxima and 2 different sets of calipers will work. Choose from the 240SX setup or 280ZX setup. Probably searching the site for "maxima bracket" will give you all the info you need.

vented or non vented toyota caliper ?
I think Z-point answered your question. Otherwise you'd be using a set of calipers in a way they weren't intended. Not too smart with brakes. But hey if you want to be the first to try it go for it. If you survive let us know how it worked out!

I think Oz is the only place in the world where you'll find a city with a wacky name like "Toowoomba"- Calling On ALL Zers for Help!!
Or the post could at least start with "OT" (Off Topic). This post offers no warning in the title that it's an OT post about animal rescue. In general I hate ambiguous titles that are intended to get everyone to read the post just to see what it says. Considering this one has "ALL" in caps it probably falls under that catagory...- 72 240z with JTR mounted 355 chevy v8 FOR SALE 4.2k
