  1. RIP Sir, we shall keep your legend alive for years to come.
  2. I am going to go with the cometition clutch that uses a flat faced 250MM flywheel. 250MM Disk and 250MM plate from a 350Z. Total weight is 35lbs.. Will hold the HP I'm after.. and you can not beat the price... http://www.enjukuracing.com/products/competition-clutch-nissan-240sx-white-bunny-upgrade.html
  3. So after many long years I have upgraded to a L28ET in my 76 running MS3PRO. I am now in need of a clutch for my beast as stock will not hold up to the power. I have looked at after market clutchs and not really impressed with costs. What I did notice is the parts from the L@* are interchangeable with many other nissan engines. The KA, VG30, Z24, L20, SD22, SD25 all seem to have the same basics about them when it comes to the clutch with the size of the surface being different. From what I have read the D21 4x4 truck clutch can hold some HP also.. Well good news is I found a clutch set up that runs under 400 with 18lbs flywheel. setup is 35lbs total. This is a custom flywheel with a 350Z plate and disk stock realese/pilot.. Enjukuracing.com offers a great deal on a custom setup for the L series engines and all of it is OEM parts except the flywheel. A whopping 250mm pressure plate and disk that hold 400HP all day long... Now the poor mans setup....AKA "White Bunny" Flywheel - 240MM 12310-N4256 280ZX 1979-1983 GL, NON GL 6 Cyl 2.8L L28E, L28ET 720 Pickup 1982-1986 DX, GL, ST, STD 4 Cyl 2.0L, 4 Cyl 2.4L Z20, Z24 Hardbody Pickup (1986.5-1994) 1986-1990 Basic, DX, SST, ST, STD 4 Cyl 2.4L Z24 Pathfinder 1987-1990 DX 4 Cyl 2.4L Z24I Clutch Disk - 240MM C010M-24086 280ZX 1980-1983 GL 6 Cyl 2.8L L28ET 300ZX 1984-1989 GL, GLL, SF, SS 6 Cyl 3.0L VG30, VG30T Presure Plate - 240MM - 30210-P9500 280ZX 1980-1983 GL 6 Cyl 2.8L L28ET 300ZX 1984-1987 GL, GLL, SF, SS 6 Cyl 3.0L VG30, VG30T Bearing Release - 30502-21000 200SX 1979-1988 DX/SL, GL, SGL 4 Cyl 1.8L, 4 Cyl 2.0L, 4 Cyl 2.2L, 6 Cyl 3.0L CA18ET, CA20E, VG30E, Z20E, Z22E 240SX 1989-1997 SE, STD 4 Cyl 2.4L KA24D, KA24DE, KA24E 280ZX 1979-1983 GL, NON GL 6 Cyl 2.8L L28E, L28ET 300ZX 1984-1989 GL, GLL, SS 6 Cyl 3.0L VG30T 720 Pickup 1980-1986 DX, GL, ST, STD 4 Cyl 2.0L, 4 Cyl 2.2L, 4 Cyl 2.2L Diesel, 4 Cyl 2.4L, 4 Cyl 2.5L Diesel L20B, SD22, SD25, Z20, Z22, Z24, Z24I Datsun 810 1980-1984 DX, SL 6 Cyl 2.4L, 6 Cyl 2.8L Diesel L24E, LD28 Hardbody Pickup (1986.5-1994) 1986-1994 Basic, DX, GST, SST, ST, STD 4 Cyl 2.4L, 6 Cyl 3.0L KA24E, VG30, VG30E, Z24 Hardbody Pickup (1995-1997) 1995-1997 Long Body SE, Long Body XE, Short Body XE 4 Cyl 2.4L, 6 Cyl 3.0L KA24E, VG30E Pathfinder 1987-1997 DX, SE, ST, XE 4 Cyl 2.4L, 6 Cyl 3.0L, 6 Cyl 3.3L VG30E, VG30I, VG33E, Z24I Van 1987-1990 E, XE 4 Cyl 2.4L Z24I Pilot bushing - 32202-B950A Stock Pilot Bushing - 32202-B9500 Nismo IMPORTANT INFO Use the realse bearing from the year of transmission as advised from others......

Looks like you got some heat issues on that yellow wire..
  5. Just go internally regulated alternator. Jump 2 wires or buy the plug from MSA.. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/alternatorswap/index.html

I have been saving 280Z plugs for the voltage regulator and have gathered quite a few over the years. Was wondering what the interest would be if I make a few of the a plug and play plugs for the internal to external alternator upgrade. It would be like the ones you see made by Dave for 240's but for the 280Z.

The last year has been fun and interesting. Well after a nice autocross event in 2013 and two spun bearings she is up and running. Engine bay was stripped and painted, extra wiring and brackets deleted and a nice newly rebuilt F54/P79 engine T4 Turbonetics turbo and the new MS3-Pro management system she is ready for exhaust then tuning.. This is gonna be fun!!!
  8. This one is must for the right person. RARE Nice Rust Free AZ 1978 Nissan 280ZX AC 4 SPD S30 Datsun Non Turbo Fairlady | eBay
  9. Does this look right or is it off? Does it need to be rotated one tooth CCW?
  10. So I am having a problem trying to understand exactly where the vacuum lines go on my new turbo conversion. Think any of you could lend a hand on how to route these darn lines...?
  11. My boots came from MSA. A little long but works great. Even came with some highly overpriced Zip-ties..
  12. I am wondering kind of the same thing.. Tomo I need to break out the heat gun and test the plastic. If it is acrylic then it will polish itself nice, shiny and scratch free with the heat if not it might just melt.. Will be watching this thread..
  13. Seems kinda high in price. I have seen the engine go for as low as 1000 and tranny like 750..
  14. I like the fact that there is an air plane in the pics...

I suggest buy some Nissan silicon and not the permatex stuff.. I could see and feel the difference between the two.
  16. Right now the car has a 3:90 R200 in it. I have a 4 speed and a 81-83 ZX 5 Speed(Which is close ratio). I use the car for auto cross a little road racing at Roebling Road Raceway
  17. How about some thoughts and opinions.. I am upgrading my L28 to a turbo and trying to decide on the transmission. So for those that have tried both what cha like...
  18. What letters are on your cams? Got any C cams?
  19. Just a note on the headers.. You could try Summit $20 cheaper and free shipping.. So I am in the middle of a turbo rebuild for the 76 and have to say it is been an adventure.. :stupid: I have hit a couple of bumps but that is to be expected.. I must say that Dave at Rebello Racing has been a life saver. I have dealt with many mechanics and engine builders over the years of owning a Z and Dave has by far been the best to deal with. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and above all professional. If you have any engine needs he is the man to deal with.. The best by far, you couldn't ask for a nicer better person to help..

Burl, My cars have always ran dead center..Even in the west TX heat years ago. I have seen cars that run over the M and run just fine. Who knows whats wrong if anything is.. My thoughts, Gauge is out of wack.. Could be radiator is clogged at the bottom and is only cooling 2/3 of what it can. Fan clutch could be going out, but that would cost more of an overheating problem. Your thermostat is way to high, I have always used a 160, 170, or none at all. I would replace these parts in this order. Thermostat (to a lower temp) Gauge (used) Fan clutch Radiator

My positive battery cable is from a 92 Honda accord LX. It has the same type of end clamp that TomoHawk pictured. Its also a perfect length. My Neg cable is of the same type off of an Isuzu of unknown make and year. If you take your old cables in you might find what your looking fr at the junk yard for cheap. Those quick clamp ones from auto stores suck. Not very strong and bend and break with ease.

I use the site to find basic prices for Z parts. I also use them to look at the fiche they offer for my other Nissan vehicles..
  25. While the engine is at the machine shop the breather tube has been removed and I am having the block portion tapped with a 1" pipe thread. This will allow for AN fittings and Stainless hose to be used. Problem solved with brittle hoses that can't take the heat.. As far as that hose have you tried your local Nissan dealer? 11828-P7100 11828-P7100 - Nissan HOSE
