turn signal and gauges help...
Your problem is the hazard switch. Run a hot wire to the green wire on your turn siganl plug and if they work then your switch is good along with the fuze so that would be a hazard switch that is bad. Even when the hazard switch is bad the hazard lights will work. I know I just spent 2 weeks tracing the same problem. I rebuilt the turn signal switch had the FSM wiring Diagrams and test just about any way you could think of. Look at this PDF I am about to post.

turn signal and gauges help...
On our Z cars, most of the time the turn signals stop working is because of the Hazard switch not working/making a solid connection. Hazards will work but the turn signals will not. All of the turn signal lights and hazard light run right through the harzard switch. There is a quick fix to this. I will probly get flaming feed back on this but this is what my machanic did. On the turn signal plug there are 3 wires. 2 white, 1 green. Take the green wire from the turn plug and run a jumper wire to the main 12v imput of the hazard switch. This will bypass the hazard switch(Because its NLA) and even after repairing does not always work. Now the only bad part of this is your turn signals will work when the key is in the off possition.

I feal sorry for ya and wish you the best of luck but business is business. So how much for the whole lot? Then how much for the other parts and how much if you were to sell each car for.

240z ignition points problem
has anyone ever tried to run that module? Just wondering :paranoid:. I bet there is a way to run it on Z cars. Maybe I can try it on my car. I have 2 sitting around the shop just waiting to be used. I will research this wiring problem of the module and see if it can be done.

A/C completely rebuilt...R12 or 134????
Carl, All I can say is WOW and how right you are about the rubber hoses, the Z cars air flow, The Greenhouse effect in a Z and how O ring fittings would be better for us. I have a 76 280Z that now has factory AC (Copper lines) vs. Dealer installed AC (Rubber Hoses) with 134a in it. (I do have the JTR radiator and a Ford Taurus electric fan with an L28 not a V8, more on that later, which causes the car to run much much cooler) but when switching to factory installed AC, I looked into placing 134a low and high pressure valves inline just like newer cars and found out that the copper lines are the same size or close enough to the newer cars that there should not be a difference. The newer ones are just made of aluminum. If I had a 240Z I would try and find a 280Z with factory and dealer installed AC and modify it to work in a 240. I know there is a difference in the controls but it can be done if you use both dealer and factory setups.

A/C completely rebuilt...R12 or 134????
Go 134a Danielson If done right no can defend. You can get 134a just as cold as R-12. R-12 is a thing of the past and is harder to get to every day. Most of the R-12 is recycled and will not be up to par at 117. Steve Blake might give some better advice on the subject.

The making of reproduction parts.
Thanks Arne, I did not look in to that. But I have some different ideas to the wiper problems and the other boot on the linkage. Plus a couple of other water tight ways for the wipers.

The making of reproduction parts.
I don't think its going to be a big requested part but it will come in handy. when doing the upgrade.

Will, after the Honda wiper upgrade info and the plugs that are for sale, what would you say to the rubber that is under the wiper arm?

Honda Wiper Motor Upgrade for the 240Z
Sounds great but I thought about trying this with a 240sx wiper motor. Should cut out the cutting of the wiper motor shaft and its also a Nissan part for my Nissan/Datsun car. Just my 2 cents

The making of reproduction parts.
The Allmighty Hazard Switch that often kills the turn signals. They are NLA. Also the inner seal located on the back hatch.

Will, I have a couple of new items for you to duplicate. :tapemouth I will see you at the meeting tonight so we may talk. My biggest project for now is to try and find a way to duplicate the entire car in one push of a button. So far the research from Star Trek is just not working out right. :stupid:
