  1. reminds me of my Grandma's 73 AMC Hornet that had Levi interior. Wonder if that would be worth anything now?
  2. On the 280 everything wires right back to the same sopts on the alt. Just take a wire brush and clean all the connections so they have good contact. The black wire is your ground so make sure that one is clean.
  3. I had the samre problem with mine Alt conversion. I cleaned all conections and made sure there was a solid ground and all was fixed.

  5. At least you know where they are. maybe you can get them out with out pulling the timing cover.
  6. chris if you use the method I suggest you wont turn the engine. Thats why you use the side of the block and the clutch plate bolt holes. But if you are looking for a reason to get a new impact then this would be it.
  7. They should be snug and fit tightly. They can be hard to get into place. Good luck John

  10. Here is what I do to get the flywheel loose. Once the clutch is off use a piece of metal with 2 holes and place it where the red line is hand tighten the bolts back up.Then remove the center flywheel bolts. The piece of metal will stop the flywheel from turning. This way is easy and quick. P.S. Pic used from the net.

Stephen, The lower rear corner is starting to curl-up. I think we should find a nice Honda glove box convertion.
  13. I believe you can still get most of these part numbers from the local Nissan Dealer. I have looked into this type of repair and the costs of it. From what I gather you can get the parts seperatly but not in a kit. Breaker plate: 22136-H9501 Pickup coil: 22229-Q1700 Magnet: 22158-S6700 Stator: 22163-Q1700
  14. Try these links here over at Hybrid. They seem to have all the info you are looking for. Help! What brake options are available for S30 Z cars? Brake upgrade FAQ
  15. I got mine from Summit also. They come in red or black. They are the cheapest I have found for those.
  16. I was just playing on the net and thought someone near Alameda, CA might have some fun with this one. Maybe even go and freshen her up. Only 2500 made 10th Anniversary 1980 Datsun 280ZX
  17. "It was fully restored by a Nissan Body Shop into the exact style of the famous BRE racing Datsun's of the early 70's." I don't think it was exactly styled as a BRE race car, maybe painted like one. It does look nice and could bring a pretty penny when it sells. I wonder what the VIN is on this car?
