Another MSA door weatherstrip problem
I used the Kia Sportage and have no problems at all. Just adjusted the strikers and everything closes great. Seals like a champ and I would recommend that mod for any Z not trying to be original 100%.

Really Ebay Sellers.....Really!!!
1. So what really is the point of listing an item with just a little bit of the part number showing? 2. Do these sellers think we are so stupid/naive to believe that these parts are so rare? 3. Why do they always seem to jack the price up on these items? Usually double the true cost. 4. Why does cottage cheese have an expiration date when its all ready curdled?

The sudden death of my closest friend Enrique Scanlon (EScanlon)
I hate to hear of such losses. Hls30.com just posted on his Facebook page about the loss. I had never personally met him but had talked with Enrique on the phone about Z items. I have never heard a bad story or harsh word about him. He was a true Z car fan and would help you or guide you in the right way. I always liked to hear what EScanlon had to say about a subject. We will miss you Enrique. Cheers !!! to your toast Mike.

E-Brake Cable Replacement (Dorman #C92592)
Hardway, The Ebay auction seems to be a nice cable. I have bought from gira7777 before. He is a good seller. His product was great and shipping was about normal for that area. 2 to 4 weeks to receive it. As I remember his item was drop shipped to my address in the states. Good luck on your Cable replacement. Take us some pictures..

Engine Kits!! Where can you be???
That's whats nice about these guys is you get to see whats in the kit. Can even have them put together as a custom config. for you. I'm rebuilding an engine now and some engine parts are getting rare to find unless you have them made. Even Dave over at Robello has to dig around to find certain engine peices for our cars.

E-Brake Cable Replacement (Dorman #C92592)
I replaced my E-brake cable due to 36 years of stretching. Job was not all that hard considering past work done to the Datsun. I have spent many hours trying to find a bigger hammer. I ordered the Raybestos (BC92952) brake cable from Summit Racing and ended up getting a universal part made by Dorman (C92592). Don't worry Summit was willing to send out the Raybestos cable if this one didn't work. I did have to make some mods to the Dorman cable but very little. I had to grind down the ends about 1/8 inch to get clearance. I also had to use the ends off of the old cable. This was not a problem as it was just cutting a slit on the end of the original cable. I was disappointed that the cable had no type of shielding as the original did and the cable was also very stiff/dry. I did take some oil and forced it through the housing to free up some movement of the cable. The cable fit perfect and works great. I did have to unadjust all the adjustment screws/bolts and pull just a bit so it would fit. Over all the project was not difficult. I would say about a 4 out of 10. I am also a garage mechanic who has many years of working on this type of car.

How easy is it to just swap good engines on the fly?
If you has some way to lift the front of the car high enough it could be really simple. Thats how the factory installed the engines was from underneath. That would be the easiest way. Pull the drive shaft 4 nuts, tranny cross member 2 bolts, then the front cross member 4 bolts, radiator hoses, battery cables, fuel lines and bam your out. I have thought about this same situation and if you could get quick disconnects for certain areas it would be even easier.

Whitch head for my turbo setup?
The P79 has the exact same combustion chamber as the P90, shape and all. The only difference is the exhaust ports. P79-Diamond/roundish shape Vs. P90 has square ports. Thanks for the input. @conedodger - I will be using an extremely rare aftermarket kit made by BAE from the 80's. It comes with all the hardware necessary to complete the build. Will watch as I have other people I know of looking for turbo items here in Savannah. After calling Rebello Racing I am going to go with F54/P79 turbo pistons .040 over sized (due to block wear). Having head rebuilt as well. Thanks all, John

I do not understand car shows...
I have hit a few local shows this month and won nothing. Zero nada zippo but have had people coming out of the wood work taking pics and talking about the Z. How they love it and remember all about it. The last show I lost to a 69 camaro that has been ground up restored buy a shop in town. Then brought to the show by the shop not even the guy who paid for the restro. Trust me it was beautiful and deserved to win. For me its not about the trophy but the cause. Help out cancer kids or breast cancer and even wounded warriors. Would I like to win? sure for bragging rights only thats it. What does bother me about most of the car shows around my area is the way trophies are awarded. I have seen a car take home 6 trophies at the same show. They let one car win several classes and I think this is wrong. How do you win best paint, best interior, best wheels, best stance ect then take home best of show to top it all off. Judging should be on a points system from 0-10 and the awards need to be handed out on a tier level. If youy taking home best of show should you also get to take home 4 or 5 trophies. To me its ends up lopsided because the best of show winner always walks out with the 5 or 6 trophies.

Removing heater but retaining A/C on 76 280z with factory A/C
You can rebuild that water **** from what I believe. If your not getting water then something is blocking it, plain and simple. Me personnaly I just pull the dash can't stand laying on the floor upside down.

Removing heater but retaining A/C on 76 280z with factory A/C
Take a look at the AC Section in the FSM and trouble shoot your problem. Your heater is alot easier to fix than the AC. If you know how taking out the Dash can make for an easy AC/Heater repair. Air Conditioning.pdf
