Triple Mikuni 44 need recommended brand of electric fuel pump
HI SteveJ, I want to apologize for not providing all the information about my 240z. My 240z has has a electric fuel pump and holley fuel regulator already installed which has been working ok. 2 weeks ago I had a problem with fuel filter having to be replace due to some particle in the filter. Also I think my Airtex E8012S is not providing the correct fuel pressure which caused a fuel stravation. I need to hook up a pressure gauge to confirm. I wanted to get members' knowledge about using a different brand fuel pump for use with my triple Mikuni 44. Thank you again for providing your information. Ron

Mukuni carb intake flange spacer
When inspecting the carb insulators I saw small cracking on the insulators but fuel is not leaking and the 240z runs fine. So I was thought it is better replace the insulators with new ones. After speaking with Dave he said the cracking is cause by age of the rubber material and suggest removing the insulators and inspect the inside for any cracking. If the inside of the insulators looks good he suggested cleaning and spraying the outside surface with multi-purpose rubber coating ( Performix Plastic Dip) which will seal the cracking and make the insulators look new. He has done this before and help owners to save having to buy new discontinued insulators which sell for $100 ea.

1972 240z Ahmeter / Fuel gauge replacement
If you look at the pic of the back of dash posted by emccallum ..look at the amp/fuel gauge it is attach with 1 screw to a bracket. Remove the 1 screw and the gauge will be ready to come out after you unplug the 3 wire plug and 2 amp meter wires connected by nuts. Remember to disconnect your negative battery cable before working under your dash alway.

1972 240z Ahmeter / Fuel gauge replacement
Do you still have a heater control panel with sliding levers like the pic? If you do not you still have to remove your present panel to get to the gauges. The amp/fuel gauge is secure with 1 screw, the gauge has 3 wire harness with plug that plug into dash harness and 2 wires with connect to the amp gauge.0

1972 240z Ahmeter / Fuel gauge replacement
Remove the gauge after moving the heater control panel away from dash... the 4 heater cables has to be disconnected from the heater box before the control panel can be pull far enough. You will be able to get to the amp/fuel gauge and clock and oil/temp gauge through the opening.

Dash fuel gauge reads incorrect!
Thanks for the response, I have fill up each time when the gauge is reading 1/2 tank and each time it took the same amount of fuel. I will continue to drive the 240z pass the 1/2 mark and check to see if the needle on the gauge slow down.

The person I recommend is not in your area, you can contact him at email dave@tuning4performance.com / his name is Dave Premo PH.925-890-8074 located in Concord,Ca. 94521. I was having trouble getting my triple Mikuni 44phh tune properly, after speaking to Dave and discussing my Mikuni issues, he diagnosis my issue was the incorrect jettings in my carbs. Dave is also a distubutor for Mikuni parts, which he sold me the jets I needed. I installed the recommended parts and my Mikuni's is running excellent. Dave is very knowledgeable about getting your Mikuni carbs to perform properly with your engine type. My 240z runs great with the Mikuni performing like they should. Tuning triple Mikuni 44phh
I have a 73' 240z with triple Mikuni 44phh carbs. The previous owner had the wrong jetting set-up on these carbs, they would spit and lose power from idle in 1st gear and sometime in the other gears also. I found a person to help me with the correct set-up here at classiczcar forum. His name is Dave Premo, dave@tuning4performance.com. I contacted Dave by email for help, he responded to me. He suggested that we should talk by phone. After couple of phone conversations, Dave recommended the parts for my Mikuni 44phh to help correct my issues. Dave is very knowledgeable with Mikuni carbs and is a distributor for Mikuni parts. I purchased the parts from Dave and installed in my Mikuni carbs. My 240z is running excellent. I highly recommend Dave if you have any problems setting up your Mikuni. You will not be disappointed.

No turn signal RH tail lamp!
Hi Steve, I took the turn signal switch out of the 240z today, took apart the switch where the contact points are located and cleaned all the contacts with electrical cleaner and a brass wire brush. Reasemble the the switch and installed back on the 240z. Turn on the turn signal switch LH and RH, working like new again. I would like to say " Thank you" Steve for your help in solving this issue. Ron
