hey mate long time no see! thanks for the comment there are 2 colours i have in mind, either Ford Blood Orange (which is a ford colour that has been used over the past 4 or 5 years, basically a orange similar to the datsun orange but with a red pearl) but these days im more leaning towards BMW Army Green, which came out on such cars as the nissan A33 maxima etc, really nice colour and would go hand-in-hand with the 240 curves as for the wheels i purchased some 3 piece ROH modina 18x8 fronts and 18x9 rears second hand not long ago, they were custom made for a R34 and i thoguth it would just be a matter of putting some spacer blocks in to make up for the offset differance.. but with the 240 having the most "in" offset and the skylines having the most "out" offset it would need a spacer block that is about 2 meters long so im either going to get some new outer rims made to the 240 offset or sell them and get some custom made wheels. this is what they look like id like to keep them because they would really suit the orange or the green, but if it becomes too unrealisitc or too expencive then ill just sell them to some skyline nut

thanks for that mate :-) sorry for the delayed reply but the site wasnt loading for me for a few days yeah im really happy with the fuel setup the diff is a short nose R200 from a 1993 (im pretty sure)personally imported (so its jap spec) z32 N/A, same deal with the drive shafts. my mate wrote off his 300 and decided to part it down, you would think the first thing i would say to him would be "ah man thats too bad" but it was more like "BAGS THE DIFF!" and also the rear drive shaft is a modified Ford Falcon XR8 shaft (with the 300zx yolks, and with the shaft being more or less cut in half ), for everyone out of australia this is what the falcon looks like p.s. 74260zt - i love your zed

Hey lads! How has everyone been? Sorry its taken so long for any sort of update, but here goes Zed74 – well the reply is over 12 months late, and my answer is …. Im not entirely sure. I got it posted from Sydney to my city (Newcastle) from a mate who highly rates them.. but im sure by now you would have sorted out your manifolds, sorry once again! Well as for my 240.. here is a picture-based-timeline from the last update http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/7685/img1833uo5.jpg the rest of the pictures are fairly boring.. so there you have it, any questions feel free to ask! Im more then happy to help. Basically where its up to now: Z32 N/A R200 diff is in, ford falcon BA XR8 custom driveshaft, rear new Z31 5 stud hubs, front R33 hubs, GTR brakes all round (not yet put on), fuel setup is done, mechanically done, electrically done, exhaust needs the final welds + flanges, few other little things but its getting there Whats happening now: stripping it down to rebuild the engine to handle around 600hpatw, and stripping for the body work/strengthening work. Engine work will be rods, pistons, rings, all gaskets, all bearings, cams, cam gears (plus springs, lifters etc), RB26 N1 water and oil pumps, pully kit. I already have most of the other stuff I need – manifolds, ECU, injectors, turbo etc. so it should be good! Body and strengthening wise, new floor pans, extended rails (stitch welded), medium sized cage (havnt decided on design yet), fiberglass front half with carbon fiber hood, shaved body with the relocated fuel cap, carbon fiber bumpers, typical front air dam(havnt decided which one) Thanks for looking! happy newyear!

im not aiming for massive power, after all i still want it to be driveable on a semi-regular basis but the reason why im getting the aftermarket intake is for 2 reason, first of all like you said about simplifying the pipework because of the front mount intercooler, an aftermarket intake will make it alot more straight forward, much more efficient and simple, but to also add some more torque to the final result. also i have been told that i would get more power out of it if i sent the same amount of money that i would on an intake, if i spent it on such items as cam's and cam gears. but you dont need to modify anything to install such mods, if i was to stick with the standard intake then later down the line move to an aftermarket one then i would also have to get the intercooler pipework re-done. but none the less once the engine is out again and its at the body shop im going to consider such things as internals, cam's and all those goodies because the engine will be out and easy to work on i realise that its not a necessity because the standard one is still very good, but i like to stand by the saying " do it once, do it right" hehehe.

exactly my thoughts when i was first told about this guy, but like i said im getting pictures sent to me from him on products that he has currently made before and he is a well known creator of these products, but its not asif im going to jump in without getting detailed information on what sort of design and research has gone into these, heck for all i know he could be livin in a caravan making these out of newspaper and toffey apple from designs he bought from ebay but i will make sure its a good product before i spend any money on any of his products rest assured no dodgy product coming near my car

thanks mate yeah iv been told that the RB's are a rare find over in the US, i guess thats why you guys are always putting in them big V8's i had a great deal of trouble finding my engine, and its still not what i wanted. originally i was looking for the Neo RB25DET VVT which would have been great, wish i found one, but it took me 5 months ( no joke, daily searching) to find what i wanted, i eventually found this engine, has around 8x xxxk's on it which isnt the best, but there isnt much you can do, time was running out. iv had this car since the beginning of 05 and the conversion started and this is where its up to now, obviously there should be alot more progress down but had alot of trouble finding an engine. like i said, in the end i got this one, got it without turbo, turbo manifold, ECU, AC and wire harness just so i could save some cash, so i got it for $2200 AUD, should be quite good when shes done another update - i had the Greddy RB25 air intake manifold on order for a while now but it turns out that they no longer stock this item ANYWHERE which isnt good, so i soursed out another type of intake manifold and i found a XMS ( i think thats the brand name, cant remember exactly, i just remember that there was a X at the start and it was 3 letters long) and this item was significantly cheaper and apparently proven better then the greddy intake. anyway it shows up and it was horrible, worse polish job on it, no runners, it was just the plenum, so i sent it right back because it wasnt what i wanted. after much more sourceing i found a guy that makes custom intakes from scratch that is ment to be " 10 times better then the greddy intake" so im getting him to send me some pics of some products he has made and it looks like this is the direction ill be going, one of a kind intake very unique so im likeing it anyway ill get some newer pics up soon hopefully

hey rob, thanks for that ill keep you updated on what im doing with the rear setup especially so be expecting a email in the near future g'day mate the transmission is rubber mounted then bolted directly to the body the crossmember i used came from a Holden VL Commodore, as they have a RB30 standard and a RB30T on the higher models, they are quite strong and are suited to what im doing very nicely hope that helps mate, have a good one

hehehe thanks mate yeah its really coming together, 2 months ago i was thinking that it will NEVER happen because its taken so long to get everything on track, but now things are really looking up this is where the big ground is made so im happy - but the wallet and girlfriend isnt ill find out about the manifold for you, i know we bought it in sydney but the name escapes me at the moment, here are some more pictures of the turbo/manifold/gate setup if your interested http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/7933/img06584si.jpg http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/7580/img09284hz.jpg http://img452.imageshack.us/img452/1598/img09296dz.jpg http://img452.imageshack.us/img452/1897/img09244db.jpg ( i have apparenly tried to post to many pics, so if you click on the links above youll see the pics ) oh wow! your the one doing the single turbo RB26, i just took a picture of my pin board, i took down a few sheets of information for the moment so you can see all the pics, anything look familure? http://img473.imageshack.us/img473/4017/img18804cm.jpg hehehe, im not sure how but i came accross your site a number of months ago, earlier this year if i remember correctly and i thought it was fantastic! yeah i thoght your turbo would be something like the GT35/40, great turbo, low lag with lots of power great to finaly talk to you! haha just alittle update on the 240 tho, i picked these up from my mate today, we orderd 12 in fresh from japan, he is using 6 for his skyline R33 with a hybrid RB30/RB25 ( i think they just call them RB30DET?) and im using the other 6 on my RB25, genuine Nismo 740cc http://img473.imageshack.us/img473/5886/img18845uc.jpg my auto sparky just got married this weekend so he will be on holidays for another 3 days, in that time my mechanic hopes to have the exhaust system fully finished so ill have pictures of that at the start of next week, the fuel tank will be getting made very soon, still deciding on the final design, but its all coming together very nicely heheh so there should be some large updates within the next few weeks thanks again guys, means alot - RB25 240z - Australia
