antennae install
Forgive me if this isn't the correct forum for this. My '75 280Z is in need of viagra and can't keep, well you know. The antennae was probably a power antennae but needs replaced. Call me strange but I was wanting to out a smaller rubberish black on on there. I found on at AutoZone and picked it up but....how does one install it? I'm guessing I need to take off the interior panel in the hatch and then go through the hole and bolt it on. It was late when I looked last night, but I didn't see any screw holes for the inner hatch side to remove it to get to the antennae housing. How does this come off? Better question, the antennae cable that goes to the radio....how does it route? Though the door jam or through the center consol? I'm pretty certain the pathetic amount of cable they provided isn't going to be enough to get to the radio so I'll need an extension, right? Where does one put the slack, or would you cute and splice for exact fit? Any tips would be appreciated here. Thanks.

Bald rear tires
The odd thing is with the rear clunk being as bad as it is, I've been babying the car and never really stepped on it. Odd, aye? I know the struts and springs are shot and I suspect a good alignment was never done. Anyway I'm thinking of getting new wheels for it so this might be a good time.

Bald rear tires
So its been a little bit since I was on the boards. Had a baby, getting ready to have another; and looking to get my Z running again. Well it has been running, but I digress. The rear wheels are bald. It didn't take long either. I suspect the alignment is off. Both tires (actually all 4 tires) were nearly new until I changed from my '73 240Z to my '75 280Z. After about a year the rear tires went bald over time. Total miles since the switch onto this car, perhaps 12000. So obviously I need new tires BF Goodrichs. The question is should I just align it? Should I get new struts and springs and then align it and get new tires? I also have a good rear end clunk that (probably) isn't helping.

thunking sound when letting out the clutch
Would the same cause of the rear shift clunk hold true in the '75 280Z?

What Fire Extinguisher to buy?
I'm not sure of the brand or size really, but alot of old boat extinguishers fit great in the back cubby holes.

Header problem
I too had no issues with mine. Perhaps there was a defect in yours or its an altercation? Call MSA and perhaps exchange it?

Burnt Z
From the recent California fires, I ran across this poor burnt Z. At least it was a 2+2... <img src="http://community.webshots.com/s/image4/1/55/4/100415504bepqjb_ph.jpg">

Arizona Z intake....big Problems
I heard that may have difficulty fitting. One option I saw here in Tulsa was a guy taking a '78 Trans-am Aircleaner and poking it through the hood. It actually looked kinda neat. Of course yours will not be centered. I think Ramflo makes a low profile aircleaner.

Moving soon...must sell my '75
Nope. Not gone yet. Soon. Very soon. Actually I gave up on the selling for a few months since we were not loeaving for a bit at that time. But we would like to be moving soon, hence the fact I putting the car up for less than I'd like to get for it....

Moving soon...must sell my '75
...amd I hate to think about selling it too. I swore I never would. I had 2 Z's and due to the baby being born I was forced to sell one. Now we are moving soon overseas and I have to sell the other. Yep its the one you see next to my name. Its a '75 with a '80 mdel 5-speed. 2+2 clutch. R200 rear end (that truthfully could probably use some fresh rubber back there). The front and rear bumpers have been cut down to creat a more ergonomical appearance. 3rd owner of this car. The car was stripped down and sandblasted about 3 years ago (2nd owner did this). See my photo gallery for the wheels that are on it now, more of a OutlawII style rim. Runs and drives great. SCCA rollbar inside. JC Whitney carpet kit with matching seats. '83 Turbo hood scoop on the hood. SCCA spoiler on rear. Custom speaker box. Absolutly the love of my life (next to my wife and little girl of course). Car is in wonderful shape. Asking $5700.

Squeeky when I accelerate?
Just out of curiousity, anyone know how much something like this will cost to replace?

Squeeky when I accelerate?
You creat a lovely picture there. Thanks. I needed a laugh.

Squeeky when I accelerate?
Never heard it going backwards, although I do get an interesting noise when braking and using the clutch as well. The car has a good 'thump' when you engage the clutch unless you baby the clutch (read between the lines - no drag racing. Damn.). Perhaps a trip to Tulsa driveline is in order? Will a professional be able to tell anything? Or should I reserve a Saturday afternoon, five friends, a keg of beer, and alot swearing? Can anyone recommend a good u-joint for my Z?

Squeeky when I accelerate?
Attempting to diagnose this for a friend before it is purchased. When I accelerate, I hear a squeeking sound from under the car, possibly back by the rear end or the drive shaft. If I coast, no squeek. It seems to do it in all gears (although I cannot really hear it when I am going faster because the ground noise and car noise). The squeek is quiet pronounced and gets more steady as I go faster until I cannot hear it. I looked underneath but cannot tell much there.

finally opened up the ZXT
Hey I am happy for ya man! Way to go. Now you understand that this site does require me to condemn you and ask you politely to get a classic Z and use the ZXT as your daily driver or as your wives car. Just kidding. Seriously, the ZXT is a nice car. Its not a classic but will be soon.

A few photos from Hong Kong
Nope. car is still for sale. I went to Hong Kong last month just to visit my parents and enjoy myself a bit. These are the pics I took while there. I will be moving around Dec or Jan. Generally the media makes a bigger deal than what is really going on over there.
