  1. Ok, I realize I have a drive line or half shaft issue but looking to confirm. Installed the RT diff mount, which made a huge difference! But I am finding an increasing vibration at 3000 rpms and above (gets worse, the higher the rpms). When I let off the gas, the vibration goes away, so is my assumption correct? Anything else I should check? Have an 83 5 speed and R200 diff installed. Visually, don't see any issues with u-joints, but that doesn't always mean anything. Thoughts? Thanks!
  2. Jared, I sent you an earlier e-mail about the sway bar.
  3. Arne, I checked Autozone, O'Reilly's, Napa and Bap Auto Parts. I am open and would appreciate any other suggestions! Todd, I have heard that it both is and is not a problem. I also have 14 inch rims and am hoping that they will fit! Will doublecheck and see.
  4. I just picked up a set of used Toyota 4X4 front calipers for $35 today. Figured to use them for cores and pick up remanufacturred ones for $125 or so from Autozone. Is it worth trying to rebuild the used ones? They look kind of rusty to me, but the rubber near the piston seems soft still. Any thoughts? Better options than Autozone for a new set? Thanks!
  5. Unfortunately, Hot Rod Air is out of business, so Vintage Air is a good choice for an aftermarket system that can handle the heat!
  6. These work great for removing panels: http://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-nylon-pry-bar-installer-kit-95214.html
  7. Thanks, guys, I thought after I posted this it may be a better question for Hybrid Z, but can always count on this great group for ideas!! I like that Unique Z Products package!
  8. Bruce Palmer, Z Therapy, made the comment on another thread about how effective the original airbox is on the Z, especially if you extend the air intake to the front of the radiator to draw in cooler air to both carbs. This made me rethink my current set up (K&N tuna cans) and put some thought to some plumbing ideas to make the original airbox arrangement more effective. Living in the desert heat makes me sensitive to improving the airflow to my SUs! Would those of you with customized cold air intake setups with the original airbox care to display your work? Any ideas on companies that provide the best setups? Open to any thoughts on this. Thanks!
  9. That's "ejection seat" option, Darrel, you weren't reading the manual correctly!
  10. MSA has an updated fusebox you can buy.
  11. Try switching your connections on the sending unit and see if that makes any difference.
  12. Randy, what did you use to replace the plastic riser piece that goes at the top of the lip between the rear and front of the car (see pic)? Looks like you found something new or came up with a good replacement!
  13. There should be one big long piece that slides under the top and 2 small aluminum pieces, one for each lower corner that also slides under the glass weatherstripping. The lower corner of the louvers screw into the pieces that slide under the weatherstripping. Sounds like you did not get those two pieces.
  14. Found some rubber caps to go over the 2 matching fittings at Home Depot, inserted a threaded plug into the other, works fine.
  15. Not worrying, Chris, as you can see this thread originated in early 2008!
  16. Thanks, Todd, guess I am thinking about doing the whole rebuild to take advantage of everything that Z Therapy does to make the carbs perfect! Might just have to put up with the high idle. I do have the carbs as balanced as they can be, and the car runs fine, just a high idle.
  17. Good point, will double check. Thought I checked this already when I synched the carbs at high idle, but may have missed adjusting the high idle screw back. Anything else I may have missed?
  18. OK, up front let me say that both my 4 screw SUs have vacuum leaks, have done the leak test and confirmed that there are issues. As I am waiting to accumulate the necessary funds to have Z Therapy work their magic on my carbs, am trying to balance as close as I can get. My front carb allows me to adjust the idle down but my back carb only goes down so far. I can balance both at about 1300 rpm, no lower. I turn the idle screw down on my back carb and it will not go below a certain level. I have cleaned both carbs and adjusted the floats accordingly, as well as lubed the linkage. Just want to confirm that there is nothing else I can do to get the idle down, until I get both carbs rebuilt, am I correct?
  19. Nice opportunity to resurrect a great car! Looks like the rear glass was replaced from a later model, as it has the vertical defrost lines in it. Mine (#1399) has the original clear glass, but not in the best shape. Still holding on to it for sentimental reasons!
  20. I did the expansion tank removal, gas overflow goes from the filler neck back into the tank, which is where the connection is now made from the filler neck. There is no gas spilling on the ground, ever.
  21. Thanks,. Dave, I thought Z Therapy did the remanufactured MSA carbs. Sad to hear that they are not available, would like to try them out!
  22. Also, how does MSA get the Grose jets for their remanufacuted SUs? http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/11-3001
  23. Hey, Bruce, are these the right size of Grose jet for the Z SUs? http://www.minimania.com/web/Item/AUD9096GR/InvDetail.cfm
  24. I thought they quit making the Grose jets for a number of years, did they just start making them again? I am excited they are available again and will order some immediately!
