  1. I am selling one (Nissan OHC) in the classifieds for $20, plus shipping.
  2. I have one in the classifieds ...
  3. Sorry, Clive, I confirmed on the Z parts CD that part #80336-E8700 is the "Rubber - Glass Run Door". Essentially, it is the piece that goes on the vertical side of the driver and passenger window to keep the glass in place as you roll it up and down. I am sorry for calling it the under door seal, as it is not. Glad I checked before we went any further! Does anyone use the rubber piece to hold the driver and passenger window in place, or do you use the felt all the way around? Just wondering, as mine is felt all the way around.
  4. Just an FYI, am selling a variety of parts from my 70 240z, under a number of ads in the Classifieds. Please let me know if you have any questions :classic:. Thanks!
  5. George, he is moving to the Dallas/Ft Worth area by late January. He is not sure if he will be working on Zs as a profession or hobby going forward.

    Tranny Leak

Oh, forgot to mention I did replace the speedo cable o ring already. Also, ordered a new reverse light switch, as mine is leaking oil through the switch. Wish I could just reach through the top of the opening for the shifter and replace the o ring! Not excited about dropping the tranny for this ... May have to wait until something else needs done before I have this done!

    Tranny Leak

I have an 83zx 5 speed tranny and R200 diff installed in my 70 Z. I have some leakage problems that I had hoped to correct with a new rear seal in the tranny and a new large gasket for the diff. Unfortunately, I am still getting gear oil leaking at the rear of the tranny. I have heard that the shifter o ring can cause this problem, spewing oil around as you are driving, then dripping down once you are stationary. The major problem of having to drop the tranny, pull the housing off and get inside to replace a small o ring is not appealing to me, so I thought I would ask you guys if you thought it could be anything else less difficult to deal with. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  9. Oops, wire broke off under rubber boot, fixed it and reverse light works as it should!
  10. I filled my tranny with Royal Purple gear oil through the reverse switch, as I could not get the fill plug removed. That was not a problem, but now the reverse lights stay on all the time whether in all gears, not just reverse. Do the wires connect in a certain way, or are they like the brake light switch which doesn't matter? Would a rubber washer have any impact on the effectiveness of the reverse switch? I put one on to provide a tighter fit to the tranny housing. Or, is my switch shot? Thanks!
  11. Good point, Bruce, but this simple repair led me to thinking about how to handle the more difficult, Z-specific, challenges that will come down the road. Was just looking for input on any Phx area repair shop options for the future!
  12. Thanks, Tarmac, my daughter is going to the U of A, good to know there is a good Z repair place in Tucson!
  13. Not Arizona Z Car Club, but the Desert Z Association is the local club, sorry!
  14. I checked with Dave at Arizona Z Car, he didn't have any ideas either. Good point, Mike, I know Gary and Danny at Spanky's did a lot of work for members of the Arizona Z Car Club, will see if members have any ideas going forward.
  15. I checked with Z Car Source of AZ and they had no suggestions for service, as they only supply parts and handle car renovations.
  16. I am having leaking issues from the rear seal of my trannny and need to drop it to replace the rear (and probably the front) seal. Would rather put it in the hands of someone more capable than myself to handle the work. Any recommendations on a good, local repair shop? Gary at Spanky's, who did a lot of engine work for me in the past, has moved to TX. Suggestions?! Thanks!
  17. Thanks, guys, guess I need the 3rd quart for that .1 liter!!
  18. Ok, I searched through the archives and only found "fill until pours out fill hole" as a definite answer. I drained my tranny and will be refilling with new fluid. Will 2 quarts (about 1.9 liters) be enough, or should I get a 3rd quart? Thought that it takes 2 liters from what I read, but not sure. On my way to Napa for Royal Purple, which isn't cheap, and want to get the right amount. Thanks!
  19. I agree with Dave (Zs-ondabrain), the Infinity 6x9s are great. Very crisp highs, good midrange, decent bass. Looking to put the 4" Infinitys in the kick panels. Still haven't put my subwoofer into Dave's wheelwell fiberglass enclosure yet! Looking for an amp to fit the other side of the enclosure (long and skinny!).
  20. Dave, are you still offering these directly, or only through MSA?
  21. Thanks, Stephen, will check on some externally mounted tweeters. Seems like a good option. Is the sound acceptable?
  22. I noticed Stephen's tweeters in the pillars, has anyone tried putting tweeters in an earlier Z's pillar, or elsewhere? I saw Bo's (Ktm) tweeters in the vent openings, but I don't want to block mine.
