Moustache Bar for "Fix"?
Thanks, Stephen. In addition to the correct moustache bar, what other parts should I get for the "fix"? I understand I need different mounts as well?

Moustache Bar for "Fix"?
Does this moustache bar look like the appropriate one to fix the alignment problem on the series 1 Z? Thanks!

The Differential "Fix"?
With the shift in the differential backwards, will the existing half shafts work?

The Differential "Fix"?
I knew the mounting "fix" required a different arrangement, or newer, moustache bar and mount. I wasn't aware that it required a longer drive shaft. Am assuming you just get one from a newer Z, any particular years? Thanks!

Personal Dumbassery; Confirming Upgraded Alternator and Arne's Adaptor Connections!
KDMatt, I had the diodes checked on the internal regulator when I had the alternator benchtested, seemed to be fine.

Personal Dumbassery; Confirming Upgraded Alternator and Arne's Adaptor Connections!
I have got my oil pressure gauge working, benchtested my alternator (everything is fine) and have cleaned my electrical connections in the engine bay and the interior under the dash by the passenger side with Deoxit. I am still getting a "dancing" ammeter. It seems to be normal after I start the car and drive a couple of blocks, then at higher rpms it starts to move around between -30 to +30. The lights start to flicker and I am afraid that I am going to screw up something! Is there anyway that I reconnected the ammeter gauge incorrectly (don't think I did) after taking the gauge out and putting it back in before? I am open to any thoughts and ideas ... Thanks!

Replacement Bushing Kits - MSA or Classic Datsun?
I am looking at a suspension upgrade and evaluating the MSA bushing replacement kit ($164.95) and the Classic Datsun Energy Suspension kit ($179). Any users of either that can provide any pros or cons? Here are the kits I am talking about for my early 70 Z: http://www.zcarparts.com/sale_9.htm http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/z_susprubber.html The Energy Suspension kit seems to have more bushings for the extra $15, but interested in hearing anyone's recomendations. Thanks!

Personal Dumbassery; Confirming Upgraded Alternator and Arne's Adaptor Connections!
It does jump from -10 to +10 pretty consistently, and I hear a slight click somewhere that is timed with the flicking ammeter, not sure what it is ...

Personal Dumbassery; Confirming Upgraded Alternator and Arne's Adaptor Connections!
I got the oil pressure gauge working (bad connection, poor electrician: me!!). Found a short in my dash as I had pushed my clock wires around to the point of crossing a positive and negative wire, thus blowing fuses and wild swings in the ammeter. My ammeter still jumps around a little, but could attribute it to switching from a 40 amp to a 60 amp alternator. Does that make sense? Again, thanks Arne, Enrique and Mike for your assistance, probably would have electricuted myself on my own!!

Personal Dumbassery; Confirming Upgraded Alternator and Arne's Adaptor Connections!
Thanks, Mike and Enrique, appreciate the input. Well, good news, I got the ammeter working!! Love to say it had anything to do with my cleaning connections, etc, but it turns out the gauge in the dash was stuck! I took it apart and freed up the dial and now it swings freely. So now the next problem ... My ammeter gauge is constantly swinging from +30to -30 at idle and from +10 to -10 when driving. I am pretty sure I reconnected everything correctly but have never seen this before. Ideas? Thanks, Stephen

Personal Dumbassery; Confirming Upgraded Alternator and Arne's Adaptor Connections!
Stupid comment/question # 46: the term "fuseible" link to me means a wire with some means of a breaker, or fuse, in-line to protect one's system due to a power surge, etc, however, I see only a wire with a paddle connection surrounded in rubber. Am I missing something? How does this stop a surge? Thanks, Stephen

Personal Dumbassery; Confirming Upgraded Alternator and Arne's Adaptor Connections!
Apologize in advance for my ignorance, but am looking for the fusible link near my starter and I found the enclosed picture. You can see a Ford Motorcraft relay or something before the starter that a PO installed. Any clue what this is for? I can't find the fusible link, or I am looking at the wrong spot! Help!!!
