1. I have an early 70 Z and the driver's window is pretty sloppy . I want to install the window pressure roller and cannot find the right location on the interior of the door. Does someone have a picture of the right location, or could someone explain exactly where it is located on the door? Thanks!
2. Dewayne, I have heard about Dashboard Restorations (http://www.dashboardrestorations.com.au) as an option for refinishing. Have also heard of prices around $900 to $1,200 to either restore or buy a dash restored. No cheap options!!! The half cap for $50 looks pretty good!!
3. Check Courtesy Nissan in Dallas area for seat belts.
4. Thanks, Bob, the MSA price is reasonable and as long as the console works for the early 70 Z, may be the best answer! Yukon, good to know the best options to fix up, thanks!
5. Thanks, Arne, will check with MSA and see if their repro will work for the early 70 Z. Joseph, will see where the MSA option takes me and will let you know. Appreciate the responses!
6. Thanks, Joseph, have heard of these guys but hoping there was something closer to home. Also, trying to see if there are any companies that manufacture reproductions.
7. Any ideas or suggestions on where to go to get a new early 70 Z console or getting an old one refinished? Seems to be an extremely tough part to find .. Thanks!
8. So, Jon, did you use a different interior panel to allow the metal tank to fit or did you use the BFH to "alter" the panel as well?
9. Those of you that have/had the plastic one, did you replace it with a more modern metal one? I have a metal one that doesn't fit. How did you make yours fit?
10. Thanks, David, I e-mailed you to check on your vapor tank. I also would be interested to know when Datsun first started using the vapor tanks. I know they started with plastic for the first 1 to 2 years then switched to metal. Anyone have any additional thoughts? Are they necessary?
11. I am in the process of having my interior redone. After taking off the rear right interior panel, I found that the fuel vapor tank didn't fit correctly . After further scrutiny, I found the tank is a replacement tank from a newer model Z. So, I need to find a good used plastic fuel vapor tank for my early model 70 Z. I have no junkyards to check here in Phoenix with Zs, so am trying to see if anyone has one lying around. Anyone have one out there they would sell?
12. Wow! Looks like this could be a smoking deal!! Don't know if looks are deceiving or not on this baby!
13. What is the general thought on VB quality? I was told their parts were not as good as other sites, hence the lower prices. I ordered the chrome window trim with squeegee for my 70 240Z and was later told by the guy doing the body and paint work on my car that the fit is sloppy; will rattle while driving. Any other thoughts?
14. Interesting ... I went and pieced my bumpers together and you are definitely correct, the large override/guard is for the front and the smaller one is for the rear. That said, it is interesting that Courtesy Nissan, as well as Motorsport and Victoria British, say that they cannot access the rear rubber pad, only the front. But when i ordered the front pads, Courtesy sent me the rear! Will be interesting to hear their response on this! Thanks for the feedback!!
15. I believe the small one on the right with the pad on it is the front and the large one to the left is the rear.
16. I just had my bumpers rechromed (look great!) and ordered new bumper pads from Courtesy Nissan in Dallas (good supply source!). They had all of the pads except the rear guard bumper pads. I supposedly found a new set on E-Bay and bought them. They arrived today but look identical to my front guard pads I got from Courtesy. I am enclosing a picture of my front and rear guards to see if someone can confirm that they are the correct bumper guards for a 70 240Z. I am assuming that I had the front pads sent to me from the E-Bay source. I am hoping you many wise souls can assist me!
17. I was at the BJ auction yesterday in Scottsdale (Friday) admiring all of the great old muscle cars; vettes, GTOs, Chevelles, etc, and am wondering when the first vintage 240Z will go for auction for the big bucks these other cars go for! Oh well, maybe just a pipe dream ...
18. I have been having sizeable vibration at highway speeds of 60 and above. I just put new tires (balanced, etc) on thinking that would resolve the problem but still getting vibration. It seems to occur when I hit the gas but stops when I take my foot off the pedal. Do you think bad u-joints?:paranoid:
19. Any ideas on where to get new chrome window trim for my early 70 Z? I am repainting and want to upgrade exterior trim to new or like-new condition. Thoughts? Thanks, Steve
20. Hi, Derek, car is back and forth between home and mechanic; fixing leak near tranny! Need to take pics before it goes to Spanky's later this month for paint! Will send some later this week!!
21. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is an FSM?
22. Thanks, Arne, will give them a call!!:knockedou
