  1. Great looking hoses there Esprist! They look perfect. With all the time and effort you put into having these made I'm sure that most all of us commend your dedication to the preservation of the Z cars.

Drill down using the following: Nissan, 1971, 240z , the second 2.4l, exterior, lift strut. That will take you right to it. About $17

Take a look at this thread Harry. If you are not concerned with originality and only want function, go with the Rock Auto strut. I had it on mine and it worked fine. And it was new. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28784&highlight=hatch+strut
  4. Hi Andy. I'm located in Pomona and if you need any help up my way just ask.
  5. I also use Lexol. Excellent product. I use it on my newer cars as well as the z. Seems to last quite awhile after application. No oily residue.

I purchased the OK decal from Esprist. High Quality. Rich Red in color.
  7. Are you talking about the little seal on the outside of the channel? If so, I just replaced mine and will take pictures tonight for you.

Good to have you here Vernon. You'll enjoy this site and will learn much about your Z. I also live in Pomona. Good luck with your project.

Also keep in mind that there are two different length belts for the York compressors because there is a drivers side mounted compressor and a passenger side mounted compressor.
  10. Maybe not new, but used. Give Elvin a call at 909) 908-0804 He's local, just over Kellogg Hill.

Esprist has some of those blue/red/white circle decals. Perhaps send him a PM. He told me once where he got them in Japan and knew what they were for, but I forgot what he said.
  12. I'll just post one decal that not everyone has seen from my car.

I probably should replace it being that it is so old. But I hate to get rid of it. I have triple A so I can always get a tow someplace in case I get a flat.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Esprist, No need to worry about the 40 year old air. It had all leaked out.

Thanks Arne. I can always count on you to know the arcane. Just turned 31,000 miles on it Friday.

Sunday I had nothing at all to do. So I decided to go work on the Z. I installed the right upper door seal and then was done. Then I remebered that someone has in his signature the statement to the effect of When was the last time you checked the air in your spare? (Tomo?) I never had. And apparently never had my father-in-law either. The Bridgestone tire was brand new. It still smelled like new rubber. It has never been out of the tub. Check out the red and blue paint still on the tread ( held by my little tire wrangler). And what is the brass thing on top of the valve stem? The cover and deck still had the triangle stickers on them as if brand new. The original paint in the tub looks brand new, no nicks or rust. I couldn't pick it up with my camera, but the tub has a rubber imprint on it "175 HR 14" from not having been moved in thirty eight years. Pretty cool.
  17. Grant. If it is a problem let me know. I think I have a spare set of used spacers from my 240 that are in good shape. I need to dig for them. I can mail them to you if you need them.

Just picked this clock up form ebay. Had to have another piece of yellow Zcar memorabila. Not bad for $19.

Carl, if the shoe fits... But I was actually referring to a post GEZZER Ron made to a thread that I started a few years ago about alarms, pulling his leg Post 3 http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25541
  20. Great pictures. They sure are a nice looking group of Zs. Hi Rich. AN old Geezer once told me to get and use this, http://www.trunkmonkeyad.com/4wmv.htm

Sanding cars by hand is a little more than I care to do Esprist. I'll leave that job to youngsters like you.

It is on my list Arne. I am growing to dislike this more and more every time I look at it. It just looks wrong. I have a good painter who will do the work at a decent price, $500 for tail, lower right and left sides, and spook. And I have Les's rattlecan paint as well on my shelf. Hopefully I'll get her done this year.

Or you could go too far and end up like this. No pun intended.
  24. That is exactly what I did Carl. The piece that I trimmed was a just a hair to long to push in there.
  25. The seal that I purchased doesn't have the three holes punched Ron. I have to fit and then pull it and drill the holes after I mark it. Thanks for the heads up on getting it correct the first time. Looks like I will have to trim the end closest to the hinge and on the outside edge on the square part of the seal as well.
