I went to get gas in my 78 280 this afternoon. After filling up, she was dead. I can hear the solenoid at the starter click, but the starter wont turn. No problem on the battery. I ended up push starting, and it runs fine (until I got home, and the problem was still there). This is the first time I've had this happen - I drive it daily. Anything else I should be checking? Do starters go bad in this manner? Are they a bear to replace? Thanks in advance. Ed A. Boulder, CO
  2. Based on some comments in another thread, I purchased a Tokico suspension kit from shox.com for my 78 280z. My car is currently in the shop getting things installed, but the guys called with a question I cant answer. It seems that the front Tokico springs are a good 3 - 4 inches shorter than the stocksprings. No compression whatsoever was needed to get the springs back into the strut housing. When put back together, but before lowering the car back on the ground, the spring moves freely up and down by about an inch. Sound right????? Will this slack be taken up when the weight is put back on the strut? This all seems strange to me, and I'm wondering if the wrong springs were included in the kit. Thanks in advance.

Any help would be appreciated. 1. I have a stock (or so reported) rear louvre for my 280. It looks like it requires drilling into the hatch to mount - two sets of latches were provided (top and bottom). Is this correct, i.e. do I have to put holes in my car?! 2. I'm looking for a left-hand front bumper corner (rubber) - any ideas on where to obtain (other than new)? My car is a 78. Thanks in advance.
