  1. Anyone got help information on levelling and gapping float at .55"? ZTherapy sent me the jet that has the needle type thing, not the round ball. So when I tip it upside down the float pushed the needle down and its hard to get a precise reading... also that needs to contact that jet needle square on right?
  2. Thanks guys, got them all apart and cleaned now. Going to put back together and make sure everything is equal and set up correctly.
  3. Hey guys, Today is dedicated to rebuilding a set of 3 screw SUs to put on my 74 260z! I am starting in 30 minutes, and will be checking back here at break times, so any information you guys want to share, let me have it! Precautions, how tos... whatever. I'll keep you guys informed, and if the car runs, maybe do a writeup with some help...

I'm waiting for a free day to rebuild and swap to some 71 SU's. Too many tests in school, and too much work. After that, car should be running good, and going to sand and polish the rims, new tires, and get an alignment.
  5. Walk State Street, the Beach, the Zoo if you're into that kind of stuff. Where are you from? You can also drive up the pass to Santa Ynez (not sure if spelled right) but its a nice town, also has Chumash casino. Wine tasting is also fun, if you have someone to drive...
  6. Awesome! My Dad just bought a 72 Vette.... 454 Convertible w/ air!!!
  7. Ya, anyone got any info on the balance tube with emissions crap?
  8. Thanks for some info. I have both ZTherapy videos and have watched them 3 times, and will one more time and take good notes. I have the carbs, with linkage and air cleaner from the 71 240. Which hole is the one that I plug that supplies the clean air to the air pump? Also, the back of the air cleaner that bolts up to the SUs has different hose alignments than the 260 flat top air cleaner... kinda wierd. Heres a video of the car with flat tops really out of tune... (I turned the car off and opened the air cleaner and the butterflys were open... thats not good right?) I did a bunch of the tune up stuff before, and now I'm going to rebuild the carbs. http://beta.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=FC7591270AB7FD92
  9. Hey guys, I am about to rebuild a set of 3 screw SU's I bought, and was looking over all the emissions hoses tonight after I did the timing chain and some other stuff. I was wondering if there are any writeups about this swap and either using or not using the emissions. It would be good to get rid of all the hoses and stuff. Anything will help, hopefully theres a link, or someone can quickly point out what to do with the tubes and holes. Thanks guys, and I have searched but not finding any direct answers yet. -Joe
  10. Anyone have a pic of where to wedge this? I haven't taken that part off yet, but I'm guessing wedge the wedge between the side of the chain/sprocket and engine block?
  11. Hey guys, After watching the ZT video and his emphasis on not letting the screw driver wedged between the chain and gear has been making me nervous about doing this. Anyone have any helpful hints or anything about doing this?
  12. Just for some more space, I had me and a friend working on it. 17mm Valve nut was a b!tch to pull so we used the no hood for best leverage. Its a early 74 260z, so good guess.
  13. Hey guys, I'm just really happy that my first time checking compression and adjusting valves went so good today! Took hood off, checked compression, adjusted valves, painted cover, and put hood back on all in under 4 hours. Might not be that quick, but was my first time and it all worked, so I'm very happy! Check my cardomain site on page 3 for the pics, I'm going to repaint the air cleaner too the same color. Compression was 140,140,145,145,150,145 (rounded up and down, so they were all in the 140's.) About 3 valves were perfect, couple needed a little and quite a bit needed a lot of adjusting. Now need a day to do the timing chain, which I am scared about dropping the chain (like described in ZT tune up video) If someone points me in the direction to upload and post a video, I can show how it was running before I did this whole tune up, then in a couple weeks show how it runs then (hopefully much better)
  14. I have a set of springs. Just redid my suspension. A shop tested mine and said the spring rate on one of them was still stock. The car was on jackstands for the past 4 years until I bought it.
  15. I've got some teflon tape wrapped around those threads.

Hey guys, Just got my SU carb setup I bought off ebay and both carb have the metal round thing on the side of them, and on the back carb the metal thing is broken off. I looked at where it fell of and it doesn't look like any air or liquid flows through, but the piece is just hanging off the side... I'll upload pics now, they should be here soon.

I love how some old cars have a purplish tint to their lights. Did they just replace the white bulb with a purple bulb? Anyone got this on their car?

Hey guys, I got my tailights out, and going to clean them up and all. I heard you can put the light assembly into a hot bath to peel apart the lens from the housing. But I was wondering what type of glue or substance do you use to put them back together? Thanks, Joe
  24. I'd say suck it up... but I have a different 20 yr old opinion, guess I don't care when people dont call me, which some didn't. Just remember that when it comes to his birthday... Thats what I do.. You give what you get. Oh ya, don't babysit
  25. No pacemaker yet, still a healthy 20 yr old. I will try these options when I get time this weekend. Thanks guys.
