My friendly local Nissan dealer helped me out and got me a strap and welded a hanger for me.

O, I forgot to mention the US$ 30 they want for shipping it to the Netherlands. That is just a bit too much.

Hi. Anyone out there who can help me find an exhaust strap for a late '74 260Z? Partnumber is 20636-N4600. Used one is OK if it is in good shape. I know Courtesy parts has them, but $14.77 for a small piece of rubber..... Thanks.

Did a search on the forum for one person brake bleeding tools, could not locate what I needed. So here is a question :nervous: Found the following item on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MiTyVac-SilverLine-Brake-Bleeder-Vacuum-Pump-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43995QQihZ002QQitemZ120128351350QQrdZ1 Would this be a good purchase for one person brake bleeding purposes? Thanks

Thanks again for all the work you put in Arne, I really appreciate it. One question though, I have a late '74(delivery date dec. 1974 :classic: ). Shouldn't I be looking for part 36543-N4502 listed for 260Z's from 09/74 to 07/76? At least that is what I found on the parts CD.

Already did: "Emergency Brake Cable - 1970 to 1973 240Z - No Longer Available" But thanks for the tip.

The rubber boots at the ends of my handbrake cable are all dried out and have tears in them. Now I need to replace the cable with a new one, or a used one that is in a good state. BlackDragon auto has a cable for 70-73 240Z cars, I don't think this wil fit my late 74 260Z? MSA has availability problems with the 74.5-76 brakecable. Any other resource to get a replacement cable? Thanks

Thanks again, I will get under the dash tomorrow and will find it!

It is in the blue wire from the coil to the tach.
  15. 62vette replied to 62vette's post in a topic in Electrical
Thanks, I will have a look.

In the 1974 260Z service manual (BE-33) tach circuit diagram there is an 'in line' resistor drawn. Where is this resistor located? The service manual isn't clear about this. Thanks

  18. Thanks Mat. Maybe you should come over this weekend and help me out....
  19. There is a lot of discussion in the forums about removing the smog/emission control equipment. Here in the Netherlands there is no need for this equipment on our classic cars. So I would like to remove all of it (maybe except for the gas-vapour tank). I have been searching the forums for a 'work-list' or 'check-list' with steps in the apropriate order to take the system off of the engine. Is it possible for someone on the list who has experience in taking these items off to compile a detailed plan on how to tackle this job?
  20. Is there an other good resource for a short throw shift kit? Thanks
  21. No, I don't have the part number of the ones that do not fit. I even doubt they are from a 'quality' parts manufacturer. They just came in a plastic bag, no box with part numbers of manuf. name.
  22. Thanks for the tip. At RockAuto they charged me US$ 27 for FedEx International Priority. It arrived here at my home address three days after they sent it. MSA charges about three times that on international shipping. But now we are getting a bit off-topic I think. ;-) Thanks again for all the tips.
  23. On the MOOG balljoints there is also a '555' logo on the body of the ball joint. MSA and BlackDragon charge too much for shipping to the Netherlands. It just isn't in sync with the prices of the parts. But thanks for the tip. These days I always compare parts and shipping costs per part with RockAuto, MSA and BlackDragon.
  24. Order a pair of MOOG ball joints at RockAuto, and guess what...... They fit perfect!! Thanks for all the advice.
  25. Hi Mat. Nice avatar, Mercury Cougar? There is a big chance yours won't fit as well.... The mounting holes are off a mm or so. And we shouldn't be messing with the control arms to make them fit... Too bad for the US$ 35 we spent on them... I will contact you on wat to do next. BTW, the price I mentioned are the prices my dealer asks. And I know by now buying them in the US, at RockAuto for example, will save me a bundle. I will get back to you about this as well.
