L24 crankshaft on L28 engine?
Hi, well just thinking into possibly adding a turbo to my project car (which at the moment is still pretty much junk ) but for later when finally through every single detail of the car Im thinking of changing the L28 crankshaft and swapping it for the L24 to lower the compression and then add a turbo. Any ideas or suggestions, and comments? Do you guys think it is a good idea?

General wisdom regarding keeping or eliminating Reservoir / Evap. Tank
one tip from a newbie! check the clamps they might just be loose or missing (happened on mine) you can check this when the car is running or was running as it will build up pressure on the hose and it will cause it to leak. as with fuel expansion dont fill your tank at night or morning (condensation is highest)

which needle?
thanks for the advice, I actually thought the same for the carbs on replacing them for another used set, Z therapy is just way too expensive for my wallet, the whole car was even half the price of a set of rebuild carbs. Anyone knows about a yunk yard that has 240Z's in texas particularly around el paso so I can start searching for a usable set?? thanks for all the help

which needle?
after some research I think I actually may have the early carb, not the flattops, which by now I know I dont have.there are 4 screws per dome. The needles where bent because the piston was stuck so hard at the dome that while trying to pull it out in both cases the needle faced a hit or two, one even strucked the ground (the whole piston) OUCH!!, the jets where also stucked, but finally I made the whole thing work again, thanks to some muriatic acid and heating...yes powerful. thanks to my local nissan dealer which knows nothing about carbs I was stuck with the only needle they found (N 27) and hope that when it arrives I'll be able to test it and see if it works at least and then work from there to a better needle but in a somewhat far future (expensive stuff 48 bucks!!). as by what I'm finding through my (relatively new) Z is that it was completely forgotten, sad...

which needle?
Hi, I just finished fixing my SU carbs on my 280Z on a L26 engine, yes quite a tuttifrutti of a car jajajaja, anyways on the way of fixing the carbs(late 240Z i guess) i wasn't able to save the needles and never got the chance to run them. I was wondering what type of needle should I put on, it is a manual transmission and a L26 engine...

how can you tell a 240Z from a 280Z?
I checked the vin# from the firewall and it was the same as the dash, HLS30 216985, and finally I have a bill of sale from previous owners saying that is a 1975, so I guess is a 260Z, jaja what I never thought it was. also since the car is hmm with no interior seats and lots of parts missing, jajaja I think weighting the car would be too difficult and not really realiable. Thanks for all your help, appreciated a lot.

how can you tell a 240Z from a 280Z?
thanks, hmm the dash VIN# HLS30 216985, but then again as Virto said it might have other numbers...for the bumpers well it only has one in the front, the rear bumper was removed and then the holes where covered by bondo, jaja also I've found I have an L26 engine with SU carbs, jaja. I'll check the firewall, and post on friday night, jeje since the car is not completely legal and is currently at mexico jajaja, border cities....

how can you tell a 240Z from a 280Z?
Can anyone help me tell if either my car is a 240Z or a 280Z, it is a pretty odd car, inside has the dash of a 280Z, the engine and tranny looks like the 240Z. The gas tank was a 240Z. also i found an ecu on the car. By know the car is half & half, jajaja.:stupid:
