Oldhemi is correct on the interlock relay, locate the black wire with yellow tracer and splice to yellow wire to the starter solenoid. This is a direct connection from the key switch "start" to the starter solenoid.
  9. I have a 260Z with a warmed F54/P79 ,Schneider 460 270-80 cam, 6 into 1 header,2 1/2" exhaust with 3:54 R 180 ,close ratio 5 speed and the car runs great, the trans keeps the RPM,s in the cam,s sweet spot around 3000 rpm between shifts.
  10. Under the hood beside the fusible link box. Saridout has the same problem.http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=36248
  11. Bypass the starter interlock circuit, locate the relay on the firewall with a 2 wire connector and a 3 wire connector. Jumper yellow wire on 2 wire plug to black with yellow tracer on 3 wire plug, this will power your starter solenoid from the ignition switch.

I have a 70 engine # 007249 guessing from a 04-05 240 Z and appears to have the same balance tube and linkage cast#E 41 The crank pulley is single grove . The exhaust manifold that came with the engine did have provisions for an air pump . Dan,sounds like a great find.

Gerry ,Take a closer look at the rear suspension, the 2+2 cars use the r-200 diff and has the rear sway bar, should bolt in using the 260 parts less struts. Contact Whitehead Performance in Toronto as they are the Z car experts and are able to supply any needed parts and information .
  20. I,m about an hour from Milton , 30 minutes north of Pearson airport. There,s a cruise night almost every night in the greater Toronto area , I,m just getting ready to check a few out.
  21. Locate the interlock relay on the firewall , connect the black with yellow tracer (ignition switch "S" terminal) to yellow wire to starter solenoid to bypass the interlock unit circuit. Now she,ll be reliable. This is a direct connection from the key switch to the starter solenoid .
