Heya toecutter Cheers for that info buddy, ill try them links for sure, dont really want to have to make my own,but atleast anyone else who wants some can have the moulds. I bought this one here in NZ.....for a very very good price....$500!! All it needs to get a wof is to get the headlights going and the horn, but now its stripped for the next year. I pulled the nose off and its in good shape, just needs a crack redone. The only part i need for this car body wise is the left hand plate where the headlight mounds and the original grill mounting brackets sit on,its cheesed out with the dreaded Z cancer we all know, but the rest of the car is mint/cherry for a Z,yeah its a 77 but its still a Z,which means nearly everyone over here has rolled, bowled and arseholed most Z's you will find, the only mod this thing had was a pod filter, lolol!Just the way i like em,clean slate to start with. Its almost down to metal now,was going to give it a acid bath, but heard a few stories on that way of going....pass. Anyone know where to get some window rubber for the front and back,i cut the rear glass out cause i didnt want to bust it....i have no spares for this model. Again TC,****in sweet Z mate...its the best ive seen believe that
  2. ahh,so this is where you all were on new years when the NZ site went poof!

Heya toecutter, yep, only the JDM (japanese domestic model) had the Fairlady Z badging, they called em 240z,260z,280z and 280zx for the american market for the most part, being that yanks would never buy a car named a "Fairlady Z" Is that your Z in the pic, very nice,im doing the ZG look with my Fairlady Z i just aquired,it has the G nose so i may aswell go whole hog on it. Have you got any close ups of your flares,as im looking to make some but need a good look before i make a template up. Cheers and hope that helps
  4. By the way Mr C,how do the 240K's drive?? Never did get the chance to drive one of them years back when we were importing them.
  5. Heya Mr C That G nose looks to be a 2 piece from what i saw today, its in pretty good shape, nothing a bit of fibreglass wont fix,but man id love to get my hands on the last panelbeater:finger:,in some places there was a half inch of bog,for no reason other than to fill the space from his shitty attempts at plating...urgggh ,took it back to steel on maybe 30% of it,just have to worry about finding window rubbers now as i didnt want to risk taking out the glass,so i just cut the rubbers in the back,nd willtake out the dash and screen then its a bare shell inside. Yeah i know theres alot of work that i could never do,like crack test the head and block (sonic testing on block also),custom head gasket...but i can manage most the bolt on stuff.Ive only ever stripped engines down not build em back up. You can use the turbos from a L20et,but they are pretty small, and id rather justify the conversion with something a bit bigger, like a z31 turbo.Ever since this drifting started getting popular, the price of nissan parts went right up,,wonder why. I know the stroker will be expensive, being that i wanted to go to SU's and boot the EFI on the 260,and turbo the ZX....... And so it begins
  6. Hi all.Im from New Zealand and have had a Zed and ZX fetish since i was 13. Ive owned a few ZX's over the last 10yrs or so,and love them.Always wanted a 240 or 260 but never had the money or was never jhonny on the spot when i did have it. Recently i met a nice guy through the NZ datsun site and he had a JDM 77 fairlady Z for sale(260z),i got it for a song i think. It has a G nose whic was a bonus. Im currently stripping it down for a good rust removal, which it has very little of,being a panelbeater/painter for near on 20yrs,im surprised:cross-eye This is the second JDM Fairlady Z ive owned, the other was a 79 with the ZX shape but the l20e engine, and this 77 is alot straighter. SO its going to also get the better spare l28e i have sitting in my garage, and maybe a stroking is in order for it,since the restore will take me about 4mths or there abouts, thats something i need to learn about as i know little of engine rebuilding or modding. Anyways, cheers for having a site for the freaks among us and all the newly addicted
