The console looks great. Would you clarify what type of undercoating you used to get the desired texture? Was it the typical rubberized stuff you can pick up at any auto parts store or was it something that dries to a harder finish such as rhino lining?

Hey John, I'm from the Mishawaka (Southbend area) and have been a long time lurker on this site. I've owned a 75 280 since 1981. It had been in storage till recently. My son and I have just started disassembly. The plan is to restore and MILDLY customize it. Our other car (the wife's) is a 78 280 that she has owned since 79. She bought it right after she got out of H. school. It's in storage at the moment but the plan its to restore to stock condition eventualy.
  3. A question to some of the old timers sort of related to the topic. My son and I are just getting starting on a restoration/upgrading of my 75 (sitting in storage for the last 23yrs). We have a set of Suspension Techniques springs, linear with 1 inch drop, as well as an NOS set of mullhuland brand inserts. In your opinion would these inserts be worth using or would it be more wise to opt for the newer technoligy in todays shocks such as the ones mentioned in this thread. The car will be used mainly on the street as a weekend toy. If you think new tech is the way to go which would you recomend for use with the afore mentioned springs?
