What to expect for under $3000. . . in Georgia
First, I'd give the guy a call and find out all you can about the car. If you're happy with his responces put 2 grand in your pocket, hop in your car with a friend or family member and inspect it in person. (like you said, it's only a few hours away) It looks very driveable, test drive it and if everything checks out mention a few flaws you might have spotted and offer him something a little lower. If he bites, you're that much further ahead of the game. Now, just drive it home following your friend/family member and start enjoying your new Z! (see...no need to tow) :Self edit...Take someone who knows how to drive a stick!

Best Duct Tape Story Ever?
Not Z related, but doesn't everyone love a good duct tape story? During a private "fly-in" fishing excursion in the Alaskan wilderness, the chartered pilot and a fisherman left a cooler-box full of bait in the plane. Well a bear happen by and smelled it. This is what the bear did to the plane. The pilot used his radio and had another pilot bring him 2 new tires, 3 cases of duct tape, and a supply of sheet plastic. He patched the plane together, and FLEW IT HOME!

Resurrection
Shame on you! :disappoin While I agree that there's no need to relocate the battery, I totally disagree with the "worth the hassle" part. Just seeing the before pics of the battery tray, one would have to know/suspect that there was rust between the tray and mounting surfaces and that while cleaning around it might make it look pretty, it would only be a matter of time before it gets real ugly there. Must KILL rust, must KILL rust, must KILL rust!

Who am I?
No, it's an air intake duct on the turbos.....scheeeeeeh how many times do I have to say that!
-
Who am I?
Darrel is correct as to the part's placement and function, however I believe it only came on the turbo models.

Price this car !!
Could be, I just don't see it. :cross-eye I figured there was black paint under the mud but are you saying there is something like a door ding moulding running across the top? The last pic of the rocker on the driver side with the door open doesn't seem to show any chrome strip or moulding.

Price this car !!
I think you're seeing mud kicked up by the wheels.

Price this car !!
What "after market rocker panels" are you referring to?

This guy crashed my car!
Someone actually got it on video. (Be careful with the volume, as there's some "light" cussing involved.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32yyvmlGOdo

Antifreeze
You might want to check out the water pump. There's a small hole on the underside that allows water/coolant to escape when the pump is starting to go bad. Look for any traces of coolant under it and along the front of the timing cover and down.

Oregon or Bust!
Stay on I-90 thru South Dakota and you won't run into any mountains. Of course if you have the time, you might want to get off the beaten path and check out the Badlands and the Black Hills. Oh and MEZZZ....you gotta get past the being scammed thing, it's gonna tear you apart! :paranoid:
