How bought his spare tire for $280.00! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-1970-70-73-Spare-Tire-Early-OEM_W0QQitemZ350009815199QQihZ022QQcategoryZ6763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. My guess is that it's probably for the same reason you couldn't get the chrome trim caps for the passenger side "grab" handle on the 240's. You had to buy the handle itself which then came with the caps. Hence no part numbers for the caps themselves.

rdefabri. Any well stocked hardware store will have marine spar available in spray cans. That's where I got mine.
  4. Well....in the spirit of the current drug theme, I found this suspicious McDonalds item. An original McDonald's coffee stirrer; the ones they discontinued. The rumor was that they were being used as drug paraphernalia, as "coke spoons". McDonald's replaced them with a new "flat paddle" design. So let's see...a little Zeppelin, a little "toot".....ahhhh the 70's!

  6. Exactly what I was thinking. I've done everything possible at this time to get some kind of contact info but with no luck. I notified craigslist and left a follow up post asking this person to contact me. Any other ideas out there?
  7. Can this truly be the infamous models' "Butt Dent" car? :tapemouth Saw this ad in Houston's craigslist last week and knew right away it couldn't be the real no. 6 car, as that Z is well known and accounted for. I will admit though that the ad did pique my interest and was curious to see just what he really had. Problem is, there was no contact info left in the ad. Myself and another individual have posted ad's requesting this information and as of yet, there has been no response. My conclusion....SICK JOKE  or just maybe http://houston.craigslist.org/car/472248584.html
  8. Have you been drinking?

While leaving my cousins house late one night, I almost immediately noticed a furball fast asleep on the roof of my 240, along with the culprits footprints all over the hood and windshield. Each step closer to my Z, I fully expected this creature to hear my approach and leave the scene with the nonchalant arrogance they are known for. This didn't happen, "it" was out like a light and as I neared the side of my car, I saw an opportunity to show my disdain for this particular member of the animal kingdom. I leaped forward with a blood curdling scream while simultaneously clapping my hands. Needless to say, this did in fact wake up the furball. However, it also caused all 20 of its steel like claws to fully extend in its effort to gain immediate traction and that was not, I repeat, NOT what you want to happen on the roof of your precious Z! Copious amounts of polishing compound were needed to erase the errors of my way.
  16. Well...the bottom marking looks like an "L". Could that indicate these trannys were destined for L series engines or left hand drive S30's.
  17. Shipping does look high on some items, but at the same time if you look at his feedback profile, you'll notice that of all the individuals that have already bought Z items, there have been no complaints. He's already sold alot of nice hard to find items such as fuse box/ashtray cover, long pigtail fuse box, gas door w/knob and a set of tail lights that looked pretty nice. I guess it all boils down to....what do you need & how bad do you want it?
  18. Just a heads up for those looking for early parts. He has a complete set of seat belts, early choke knob and other items. Email him for other treasures he hasn't listed yet. Even has a "L-DOOR PANEL LIGHT". JDM part or just something a PO "customized"? Anyway, here's a link to just the 70 240 parts on his eBay store site. http://motors.search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&from=R10&satitle=70&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&fmmk=&fmmd=&fylo=&fyhi=&mppfqy=70&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&sabfmts=1&saobfmts=insif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&seller=1&sass=mark_gale5&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=

  24. You ask for help in sourcing a part and when someone helps, you question them?????? Scheeeesh!

Dan, don't worry, you bumper overider/bumper guard will have no effect on the placement of a muffler tip in the cut out. Yours is an after market set-up that was just hung lower for whatever reason.
