Found 1972 Survivor with 5,400 Miles?
Gentlemen (and Ladies) .......... Mr. Moore suggests that the car has 54k miles based on what he sees in the odo pic. I've copied the same pic and enlarged it and I just don't see the same. So untill someone can provide more "proof" of the actual milage, I think we should just trust Mr. Purcell and the description he provided. That being said, I also think 30k is too much for this example.

Estate sale find
I've lost all track of time! On a side note, they do list a contact # for questions. It can't hurt to give them a shout and see if they'd be open to selling it before that weekend, after all, it's a sale and not an auction.

HLS30-00854 on Craigslist
5thhorsemann, My thread on this car is directed to those individuals interested in getting their hands on an early 240Z to restore or those who already have one but are looking for those hard to find early parts, hence the title "HLS30-00854 on Craigslist". For these individuals, this car is a potential gold mine even at $1,800 (assuming you can't talk the owner down). I guess if you don't fall in those categories, it's best you move on........

HLS30-00854 on Craigslist
Is that right, you wouldn't give $180 for it? Have you seen this car in person and gone over it from top to bottom? I didn't think so! Does it still have the 2400 valve cover or maybe an uncracked early dash or how bout a set of sweet taillights? Could it have the original drip pan, metal fan shroud, early ashtray or pristine heater control panel still in it? If I were you, I wouldn't be so quick to write off a potential gold mine based on just a couple of pictures. Or better yet, keep doing just that so the rest of us can grab these before you do!

Arne answers questions.
Arne, did you ever own and enjoy a particular motorcycle back in the day? If so, that's something you might consider getting your hands on and restoring back to its glory days. There are plenty of 70's bikes still around and the restoration costs for the most part are a heck of alot cheaper than doing a car. The only negative I see, is that the enjoyment/ride time of the finished product would be about the same as having a convertible in your neck of the woods. Just thought I'd throw something different out there for you to consider, good luck finding another project that makes you happy.

Griots Garage
As taken from the opening paragraph from the "Griots link".............. "The 240Z concept was conceived, designed, and built specifically for the U.S. market." Wow, it's been confirmed.....Carl was right and Alan has been wrong all this time! (OK folks, sit back and watch what may be the best fireworks show you've seen in some time.)

240Z Stock Original style muffler tip hand crafted
As a replica/reproduction part, I say this one fails in a way most people won't recognize.........it's too nice. In my opinion, any repro part should mirror the original part as closely as possible. Any flaws, spot welds, seams or anything that is particular to the original, should also be present in the repo. This tail pipe on a concurs car should lose points in my book over a car that has the original. Try showing up at a Corvette event with a 63 split window without the right amount of "orange peel" in the paint and watch the points drop. The attention to detail should be no different for our cars. Sometimes, too nice is not nice.

Is what i found worth anything?
The part number is right there in the photo (16009-E4311) One should be able to look up that number for the Z and see if it's a match.
-
What's it worth?
You'd have to see the first set of pics he had but it appears he's posted up some new ones. Doesn't matter though, I was just having a little fun with him.

What's it worth?
Really, you took a picture of your KNOB in the bathroom and posted it here for all to see !

Windshield Mount Rearview Mirror
Ok............... Just checked in with Courtesy Nissan and was informed they were NLA and no dealers showed any in stock. Their last price on the books was $109.72. So, does anyone have an opinion on fair prices for NLA parts? Here's some pics of the mirror I have.

Windshield Mount Rearview Mirror
I've got a N.O.S. mirror available, but just not sure what the current market value is. Are they NLA @ the dealer?

Is this too warped to use?
All this talk about compromising, and yet so little of it going on!
