  1. I have 5 1/4 speakers mounted in the kick panels on each side in the front. The only drawback to this location, is the speakers can't be very deep. Huge magnets will not fit. There are some nice speaker boxes made that replace the taillight panel in the hatch area that are cut for 6x9's. A friend had one in his 72 and it sounded pretty nice.

I recently swapped out engines, and have a motor on the stand. I used electrical connector dust caps in the round holes, and some 1/2 " thick closed-cell foam cut to fit in all the rectangular holes on the block. This should help with keeping moisture and various small critters out of the engine. As time goes on, I will probably do the oil in the cylinder, and monthly rotation tricks.

I'm putting a rebuilt 72 motor in my 71, and have the records that the PO kept on the maintenance. Back in '82, a valve job was done and they replaced the 'afc bolts'. What are they? Can't find reference to this anywhere.
  4. I would have to go with the heater core/hose hardware. Just finished replacing the core, and my head and back still hurt.

I have one, possibly out of a '74, that seems identical to the '72. It is clear plastic, not metal. $35 plus shipping. Where in Fla. are you? I am in Melbourne.

I used The NewDash Group in Chandler AZ. for my 71. It was 10 yrs. ago, but the price complete, with shipping to and from Fla. was $425. Dash still looks like new. Their # is 800-283-2744. Hopefully they are still in business.

Anybody with a cigarette in one hand and a damn cell-phone in the other.
  12. Actually, that is from the later model(71-on) wheel covers. The original 70's had a 'D' in the center.
